How come we're not hearing from the '72 Dolphins this year?
First, a caveat: maybe that gang, Shula and the rest of 'em, are flapping their gums as much as 2007 when the Pats went 16-0. I would not be as attuned to it because it's the Saints and Colts making the run, not the Pats.
But are they out there talking %$#@! this year at all? It sure seems like they're being quiet. Maybe the Pats having a perfect regular season changed things for them and they'll only get vocal in the playoffs. Or did the media just seek them out more in 2007 because it was the Pats, and the Pats are the tail wagging the NFL dog? |

Mercury Morris is cracked up beyond belief, Shula dieted himself into a coma, and all the rest of that team are half off the waggon.

It does seem strange. Where are the ESPN polls on who wants Indy or NO to go undefeated? (haven't looked) But national media's tenor is definitely different this time around from my point of view.
Also - Where's the hoopla each week where it's the other teams "superbowl" too? That still seems to be only when they play us... |

Ya I think this is pretty funny too, it just goes to show us all, lots of people have hate for this team.
I guess that means we are doing somthing right:P I would trade that 16-0 for a ring anyday btw. |

Re: How Come We're Not Hearing From the '72 Dolphins This Year?
It's because there are TWO teams left that have a good chance of going undefeated. Chances are, at least one of them makes the SB with an undefeated record. When the Patriots were on their run, it seemed like any game after the Colts game could have ended their run (Any Given Sunday theory).... and this led to the 72 Dolphins praying every week for a Patriots loss (ie: making so much noise).
It isn't like that this time. Even if One of the teams loses, there will still be one undefeated team remaining. This is also the reason why i think One of them WILL go undefeated and win it all this year. It's because both teams are not under the same pressure as the Patriots faced. The national media has divided the pressure into two, diluting the amount.... thus, not making it a SB for every opponent they face. This was obviously not the case in 2007 where EVERY team after the halfway mark saw playing the Patriots as the their SB. |

If we lose in the playoffs (or don't make it), I want the Saints to go 19-0. I'm absolutely sure that Shula and Mercury will be the first ones out there to congratulate them, but after their last 15 mins of fame, they will both be officially irrelevant for the rest of time. :)

Bob Griese advised both teams to lose a game.
