I'm not taking issue with the substance of what you said, but your horrible Monty Python analogy, which strikes me as a personal insult ;)

First of all, the "cuddly little rabbit" was a mass-killing machine, so there was trully something to run away from.

And second (spoiler warning), they DID eventually triumph over the rabbit (with the Holy Hand Grenade).
