Brady's 1st Pick
 

It was 7-3 Pats with the ball driving for another score. Pats just held them to a FG. Momentum was clearly on Pats side. When Brady threw that pick going for a possible 14-3 or 10-3 lead I believe that was HUGE. I know there was a whole football game left but we eat up more clock get a score it changes scenarios, feel, mindset. Saints come down and score, momentum switches we never get it back. Pats play uphill rest of the game. Thoughts?

When Brady throws on the run, he becomes a subpar passer. That being said, Moss seemed to alter his angle during mid throw which lead to the pick....a big momentum killer

This was a timing throw but the DT just pushed the pocket double teamed.

a 3 man rush yet lossing the throwing lane he ran around but the timing was off.

The Saints kicked our butts last night, so it's hard to blame it on one play. Brady's pick didn't blow the coverage and allow Brees to throw for 5 TDs.

However, I thought that the momementum of the game changed dramatically on 3 consecutive plays:

1. Pats D stops Brees on 3rd down with Brees overthrowing Meachem, forcing a punt.

2. Welker returns the punt 41 yards. I thought he was gone, but Roby closed with amazing speed and caught Welker from behind. That saved a touchdown, and was huge. Play of the game, as far as I'm concerned.

3. Brady throws a horrible pick on the next play.

I thought that the Saints looked faster and more aggressive than us the entire game. The Roby play was one example of that.

After Brady threw that pick I texted my friend and told him that pats had not shot of winning. Did that end the game? No. But that pick was a killer.

Also I am not blaming Brady, I just knew after that play the game was not going to be won.

For all practical purposes, that pick did not end the game.

However, I bet everyone watching the game (including me) saw it as a bad omen. The Pats tend to not win when Brady throws bad picks.

Brady usually makes good decisions. That wasn't one of them. He should have thrown the ball away. If we go up 14-3 the game may have had a different feel.


In general we got out butts kicked and were exposed as a good but not elite team this year.

What I saw as a bad omen is when the saints kicked their first FG and it hit the left post and somehow bounced in.

the pick was horrible and a momentum shift.

i thought Moss caused the pick, or at least he and Brady miscommunicated, because Moss broke off his route. this made the pick look horrendous. might not have been Brady's fault.

The pick was a huge momentum killer. Perhaps I am nit picking but with the success of the running game on the previous drive and an opportunity grind out yards on the ground (which also serves to keep Brees on the sideline, I was stunned to see a pass play called on the first play after Welkers run back. To me they abandoned the run right there. It just made no sense.
