Will Bruschi shut up?
 

I loved this guy when he played here, although I am finding that my respect for him is dwindling the more he says about the Patriots on ESPN. This whole lack of respect thing in terms of going for it on fourth down, at any point, not just against the Colts, is getting old. Technically, with that rationale, NOT going for it on fourth would be disrespecting the offense.

If the defense wants respect, why don't they step up and stop the Colts at some point in the second half, and maybe they would have gotten a chance to stop them. Oh right, they did...

Just because you don't like what he said it doesn't mean he has to shut up. He should say all great things about the pats to make you happy? Come on now some of you here sound like you want to live in North Korea. He is giving his opinion and that's about it. I respect his opinion although I disagree with it.

I want to hear more from him, personally. He knows this Franchise better than anyone, and that includes Belichick and Brady.

He's insightful, intelligent and very very good with his thoughts and opinions.

Tedy is still very much emotionally attached to the game through a player's perspective and that makes him less than objective, especially when it comes to the Patriots. In matters like this he's speaking for himself vs. giving balanced, reasonably considered insight.

While I agree that he's got a right to say what he wants, and I love hearing from him... I think that he puts too much emphasis on this one play... both he and Rodney aren't coaching. They're mediots now ;)

Conventional wisdom said punt. Winning wisdom said go for it. It wasn't about disrespect, it wasn't about thinking his defense coudln't do it... If that was the case, he would have made Peyton march the length of the field instead of giving his DEF a short field.

I doubt BB disrespected his DEF by giving his OFF the opportunity to slam the door shut on Peyton.

I thought Brady had a very pointed remark about Bruschi today on EEI, in effect telling him to shut up when he referred to Bruschi being on the field for the defensive meltdown against Manning in the AFCCG. On paper, it might not sound like much, but if you heard Brady say it, you could tell he was pretty PO.ed at Bruschi for ripping into Belichick.

First of all, he is an analyst now and is not restricted by the "cone of silence" of the dressing room. He disagrees with the decision and he probably echoes the thoughts of most of the players on the defensive side of the ball. Hopefully the players see it as a challenge, but I certainly see tedy's and rodney's perspective. Quite frankly, I agree with them.

I love Bruschi, but his crazy ranting last night came off as him just trying to get attention for himself and make his presence on ESPN more known rather than giving a good analysis of the situation.
