Convicted terrorist Ray Luc Levasseur, on again to speak at UMass, says he's worried about hostile environment

AMHERST - With the upcoming appearance this week by convicted terrorist Ray Luc Levasseur at the University of Massachusetts raising protests from police, the governor, the state Senate and UMass officials, Levasseur himself said Tuesday he was more worried about the hostile environment police were generating to his appearance.

“I am concerned about the police continuing to contribute to creating a climate that’s hostile,” he said in a telephone interview Tuesday. “I hope they conduct themselves in a professional manner,” he said.

He said that he had never advocated violence during a talk, and planned to talk about his sedition trial while at UMass.

Levasseur was released in 2004 after serving 20 years in prison for his role as a leader of the United Freedom Front terrorist organization and his part in eight Boston-area bombings between 1976 and 1979; the murder of a New Jersey state trooper; and several armed bank robberies. The group was also linked to the attempted killing of two Massachusetts state troopers but he was not charged in those cases.

That article is hysterically ironic. A man who killed someone and bombed others is worried about a hostile environment? Did he ever think about the environment of fear, pain, and tension he created with his bombs? It is so sad that an unrepentant terrorist is allowed to speak to students.

No ****. I was thinking the same thing. WTF is up with people? Why give this loser murderer a microphone and platform? Tax payer money is going to fund this too. Sweet.

If it wasn't so sad it makes a great joke, maybe the Ft Hood shooter can line up a list of speaking engagements instructing college students how to kill unarmed people.
