Newsmax Reports, House GOP Calls for DeLay Replacement
Apparently there is some rebellion in the Ranks of the Republicans, now they want to replace DeLay. I guess some of them are beginning to believe that all these charges and things he is linked to must have some validity, too bad the White House does not agree.
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2...6/213424.shtml Embattled Rep. Tom DeLay's hopes of reclaiming his position as House majority leader suffered a potentially fatal setback on Friday as a growing number of fellow Republicans called for new leadership in the midst of a congressional corruption scandal. "It's clear that we need to elect a new majority leader to restore the trust and confidence of the American people," said Rep. Jim Ramstad of Minnesota, as two fellow Republicans circulated a petition calling for new elections. Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., whose own hold on power appears secure, signaled he would not stand in the way of elections that could produce changes in several leadership posts |
The Texas AG's charges against Delay are political and bogus and will eventually get tossed. The amount of jury shopping the AG had to do to get an indictment that stuck should give you a clue there.
Despite that, Delay is a corrupt elitist who needs to be replaced. Most folks and many Rs realize that. Hopefully, someone competent will soon replace the creep. |
