The "streak" is over

Prior to today, the Patriots defense had not scored for 26 games. A rather amazing streak.

The official records of the NFL will say that the streak continued today -- for the 27th game. But that's only due to a merciful decision by Gene Steratore not to award a clear safety and the Patriots' disinterest in challenging. As far as I'm concerned, the streak ends at 26.

It's a minor point, but I'm really not a fan of that type of officiating. I realize people were cold and it was probably a result that both teams favored. But the offical's job is to call the game in front of him. Not the game he wishes were in front of him.

Good pick-up. When is the last time our defense scored? The Week 2 game vs. San Diego in 2007?

Not that it means anything, but if I saw the graphic correctly, it also cost us owning the record for largest margin of victory, instead we tied it at 59.

yea, calling him down at the 2 was BS, nd yea it was a "pity" call, but one that should not have been made

it was a clear safety /fuble and TD

but the ref changed the game

Eugene Wilson returned an INT against the Jets in Week 15 of 2007.

5 more games that year + 16 the next year + 5 this year = 26 games.

Interesting. I think maybe you missed the larger points. But thanks for the tidbit.

Is it too much to ask for it to snow every game for the rest of the season.. even indoors?

im sorry, but for forward progress to be called, im pretty sure u have to have the ball in ur possession

and that punter sure as hell did not, he barely picked up the ball (if at all) before the endzone

You can challenge the spot of the ball, which encompasses forward progress.

As for a fumble/recovery/etc, it's likely that the whistle was blown too early.

As a caveat: I was returning from Mexico and did not get to see the game =(

I did not see the play. I am sad I missed this game.
