Ex-Democratic fundraiser sentenced to 24 years

NEW YORK – Former Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu was sentenced to more than 24 years in prison Tuesday by a judge who accused him of funding his fraud by manipulating the political process in a way that "strikes at the very core of our democracy."

U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero sentenced the 58-year-old Hsu to 20 years in prison for his guilty plea to fraud charges and another four years and four months in prison for his conviction at trial for breaking campaign finance laws.

In a lengthy criticism of Hsu's fraud, the judge said the former fundraiser used political contributions to win respect and impress investors as he committed a campaign finance fraud that "strikes at the very core of our democracy."

Hsu is a piece of trash and deserves the jail time he gets. Maybe not 24 years, but certainly 5+. Who here is defending this ass clown? Are you creating an adversary again?

Huh. A guy who hasn't been in politics for at least 13 years (the Clinton link was election fundraising, don't remember if it was 92 or 96... actually I believe the former), running a pyramid scheme.

Meanwhile Iran is getting an A-bomb (we think), we're considering getting out of Afghanistan, and Jon and Kate still hate each other - just three stories of more national importance than this guy.

Read your own link, Foggy. Clinton and the Dems ditched this guy well over a decade ago, and gave the money he raised back to the donors. Evidently his pyramid scheme didn't even begin until a decade ago.

He hasn't been in the news for over a decade because if the story is that Hsu is a scumbag, that's old news.

There's a great big world out there, outside the echo chamber! Be a man and have a look at it now and again. Life and politics are so much more fascinating than these irrelevant cardboard morality plays you imagine to be the "real" truth.

If this is the best the GOP hate machine has to offer, it's gonna be 7 lonnnng years. Though actually maybe you guys would prefer to get your butts handed to you again... screaming against the real government seems to be much more fun to the wing nuts than following the actions of their "own" government (since they have no trouble expression treasonous intent against the elected govt led by the other party.)
