Lyrics: Songs About President Obama - Political News - FOXNews.com

First thing I do tonight is ask my kids what, if anything, the school says about obama. It had better be NOTHING like this or the principal with have some explaining to do.

Saw that earlier in the day.. the Latter Day Saints Advertisement was in interesting lead to the story.. not sure what the genesis of this thing is..

Sounds a bit like some Cuban Work Song...

Scary.........Let's let kids be kids. Why would we rush them into this mess that is the world today. People are so egocentric, their teacher should do a better job?

Sickening.

Sorry, but I don't see anything political or partisan in the song. My daughter is in 8th grade and is involved in an extra credit program. Last weekend there was an event at the Nixon Library that the students would get extra credit for. It was hosted by the Orange County GOP. It was supposed to be about citizenship. It was voluntary and I let my daughter make her own choice about wether she wanted to go or not. She said no. There are no extra credit events sponsored by Democrats. For the record, I am an Independent and I see no wrong in either honoring the president or going to a citizenship event sponsored by the GOP. I just don't like the fact that they are enticing the students with extra credit to go to a GOP event. If a child's family is Democrat and don't wish to send them to a GOP indoctrination event, then these students don't get the extra credit.

Did you read the lyrics ? They are despicably partisan; just imagine if we had kids singing this ***** to Bush. Keep this crap out of the classroom or I will keep my kids out of the classroom.

Where's the line about obama the liar anyway ?

When they sing "Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!" do you really think it's only supposed to be about being the first black president (not that that matters anyway except to the racist democrats). Or do you think the young mind thinks "he's number one".

Or how about "Mr. President we honor your great plans". Ummm . . . he's bankrupting the very kids singing that crap. No, no partisan at all.

Yes, I did read the lyrics. It is about honoring the President. The same thing happened when I was a kid and JFK was president. Or do you think it is better to teach our children to be hateful? I taught my daughter that you can disagree with the president but you still honor him and show respect.

It's teaching kids propaganda about the president. It's crap. If they want to teach them to honor the position of president, fine. The person - absolutely not, he's a liar and a generally bad person. I don't teach my kids to hate, I teach them the truth as I see it. The schools should stick to math and english - not that I'm happy with how they're teaching those either. Every minute they spend on obama is a minute I have to spend at home undoing it.

This outrage is an example of the right-wing's idea of political correctness, i.e., it's okay to tell racist, sexist, and homophobic jokes, but god forbid kids should sing a song praising the president. The songs are quite innocuous, and the kids are cute. When the President starts demanding that songs in his praise be sung, we'll have something to be concerned about. Frankly, this is another idiotic issue by Fox News that only appeals to fringe elements in the Republican Party (there's a lot of fringe these days).

Re: Singing for Obama

What about what I said about a citizenship event hosted by the GOP at the Nixon library? They are offering the carrot of extra credit to attend an event that can be seen as propaganda. And I respectfully disagree with you that Obama is a bad person. While I don't agree with everything he does, I think he is a decent person. I think the same thing about Bush. The thing is they are both politicians, with all the baggage that politicians carry. This is why I am an independent. The hatred that one side has for the other side is really ridiculous.
