Socialized medical care: a Tort lawyer's dream
.
See how it's done. Lousy medical care provides a bonanza for the legal leeches and parasites looking to get (steal) "money for nuthin' and chicks for free": One in six NHS patients 'misdiagnosed' As many as one in six patients treated in NHS hospitals and GPs’ surgeries is being misdiagnosed, experts have warned. Doctors were making mistakes in up to 15 per cent of cases because they were too quick to judge patients’ symptoms, they said, while others were reluctant to ask more senior colleagues for help. While in most cases the misdiagnosis did not result in the patient suffering serious harm, a sizeable number of the millions of NHS patients were likely to suffer significant health problems as a result, according to figures. It was said that the number of misdiagnoses was “just the tip of the iceberg”, with many people still reluctant to report mistakes by their doctors. Nobody wants to talk about this, but it strikes RIGHT AT THE HEART of the matter. Socialized medicine will be a tort lawyers dream come true. If you think medicine is expensive now, ..... just wait. Doctors will do career changes to become lawyers ... so they can retire even earlier. // |
Re: Socialized medical care: a Tort lawyer's dream
Where's the U.S. figure to compare it with? Do the 40 million uninsured Americans that don't get diagnosed at all figure into it? I'm so shocked that you'd expect a discussion without any kind of comparison to the U.S. system.
Oh look, it's even worse in the U.S.: http://www.cureresearch.com/intro/common.htm Quote:

While we need to compare the US to the UK, this isn't the correct study. Using a 12 year old survey based on a phone survey with patients???? We live in a society when a good percentage of the population can't even tell you what medication they take, "doc, it's a little white pill" and don't know what they are being treated for but you'll rely on them to tell you that they were misdiagnosed. That sure limits it......... And the respondents were 40% of 42% who reported a mistake, a much lower percentage. The actual percentage may be the same in both countries or it may be higher in one but this is a joke of a study to use as comparison.... |

Oh, just send him a check and stop with the "I know" bs. You didn't have a clue until he mentioned it. Study methodologies and metrics aside, anybody who thinks that socialized medicine will produce FEWER tort cases to keep greedy lawyers at the feeding trough is just wishful thinking .... you need to see the guy in the trench coat down by the Brooklyn Bridge for a "real deal", a "steal of a deal" ................................. // |

It's not possible to have an adult discussion when dealing with that level of thick-headedness. So no, I didn't go to the track today, gamble or smoke pot or whatever other useless one-liner you can pull out of your limited mental reservoir, and yes, you're still a fucking clueless idiot who relishes in not knowing anything. |
