Projected 53 - Turnover from last year...

So far, using Reiss' projected 53 man roster as a guide, if true would mean 19 new faces who weren't on the roster last year. Do anyone know what the turnover was in recent years? IIRC it was about 10 or 11 per year, roughly 20% of the roster. If 19, that's 36%.
Quarterback (2): Brady, Hoyer
.

Running back (5): Faulk, Taylor, Maroney, Green-Ellis, Morris
Tight end (3): Baker, Thomas, Watson
Receiver (6): Moss, Welker, Galloway, Lewis, Edelman, Aiken
Offensive line (9): Light, Mankins, Koppen, Neal, Kaczur, Vollmer, Ohrnberger, Wendell, O’Callaghan
Defensive line (7): Warren, Wilfork, Seymour, Green, Brace, Pryor, Wright
Hybrid defensive end/linebacker (2): Burgess, Banta-Cain.
Linebacker (7): Mayo, Thomas, Guyton, Woods, Alexander, Crable, Ninkovich
Cornerback (5): Springs, Bodden, Wilhite, Butler, Wheatley
Safety (4): Meriweather, Sanders, Chung, McGowan
Specialists (3): Gostkowski (K), Hanson (P), Ingram (LS)

i know this may sound crazy but i think its possible BB picks up Joey Harrington for the veteran presence...i now Joey is kinda bad but he was on some pretty bad teams

It's a BIT more than usual...but really there's usually around 15 or so..a BIT more...and certainly an influx of youth..which for the oldest team in the NFL...a plus!!

Plus two on IR (McKenzie, Bussey) and one on NFI/PUP (Tate). Helluva rookie class.

Correction. The Pats USED TO BE the oldest Team in Football, back in 2007.

The 2008 season witnessed a total plunge into a Youth movement barely begun in 2007. This season theTeam's age will fully plunge to among the youngest in the League, at the same time the talent level may have stayed the same or actually gone up.

Welcome to Dynasty, Phase II. Its now fully retooled and will be even better in 2010 and 2011 as the youngsters mature.

But consider that despite a extraordinary draft class, not a single rookie is slated or needed, to start on either Offense or Defense. The lone rookie starter is a LS, Mark Ingram.

That means young veterans have learned their rookie lessons and are ready to blossom. The JUGGERNAUT emerges.

With Slater's injury, I'd wager that Terry Nunn may win a job as a KR/WR too, makingit an even better ten.:D

With Harrison, Vrabel and Bruschi alone gone its not surprising to see a bunch of new faces

Actually I have heard at least two commentators say eralier this year that the team was the oldest in the NFL still...which was a surprise to me. Obviously, with Vrabel, Harrison and Bruschi gone, that number will be reduced considerably. No doubt the youth movement started last year and is making a big strong move this year as well. How many rooks this year?? Almost 10?? A big change.

I don't see how that could be true at this point, with the massive rookie influx we've had for the last 2 years. Could just be commentators being dumb and relying on the same talking points long after they stop being true :P

By my count, we have 13 rookies or second-year guys on our final 53.
