He's a safety who was with the Bengals for a few years and the Broncos most recently.

Interesting they'd release Spann who knows the system, and bring in this guy. Guess Porter was no Stephen Neal....

I think there is an eye to the change in ST's that we can't see yet. That unit could end up looking a LOT different than last year.

So much for the Porter experiment.

If Porter is nursing an injury, this may allow him time to heal up and work on some technique drills before being re-signed later. Porter may also have failed the conditioning run and NE could just be saying thanks for trying, but its not enough.

Spann has floated on the shadow roster before and can be brought back if someone else doesn't lure him, Dazy whomever is getting a test drive.

I think that you might be on to something. The Pats seem to have been busy rebuilding the bottom half of our roster this offseason. It was necessary. We lost a few guys to the Broncos, Chiefs and our special teams captain to the Jets. We have a new special teams coach too. Who is from DENVER. He might want a few guys that he's coached on the unit.
