I must be completely out of the loop regarding Wright; everyone keeps calling him a nose but I thought his best performances were at end.

Last season I thought it was the other way around when he was covering for Warren and Wilfork. :confused2: Previous years he's been pretty solid at both.

he has been used at both though he isnt the typical NT.

On run plays he is more suited for end but he is a good pass rushing DT and I intentionally said DT.

with Brace who knows how this could change.

I am curious to see who makes the final cut LeKevin or Green? This of course is barring a major DL injury in TC. One of them is going to have to go.

NE normally keeps seven DL, though they kept six last season with one on the Practice Squad. I think Brace argues for seven DL this year to keep the depth healthy while carrying the rookie trainee:

1. Seymour
2. Wilfork
3. Warren
4. Green
5. Wright
6. L. Smith
7. Brace

The other four are Practice Squad eligible and could be fighting for one or two slots there. With the injury caveat you noted.

Now if those players all stay healthy **crosses fingers** that would be one fantastic group!

Agreed. I really like the group as Box outlined. I keep thinking about what BB did in 2004 with regard to running downs every so often. He had Warren and Sey on the ends w/ Wilfork and Keith Traylor in the middle. This year, with the same set on the outside, Wilfork and at 330 lbs, Brace manning the other DT spot, that gives the team a lot of beef in the middle of that line. Gotta like it!

I too would like to see all seven on the 53-man squad.

I like Wright in the nickel packages as an interior pass rusher. He gets upfield pretty quickly and helps collapse the pocket. In all the whining about where the OLB pass rusher is going to come, I think people forget that for a decent amount of snaps last season, we kept 3 DL on the field in the nickel, which would put a lot less pressure on the OLBs to get to the QB.

I also think AD's pass rushing abilities are severely underestimated and underappreciated.
