This particular bill is the worst of both worlds. For those that believe in the doomsday scenario, it doesn't go nearly far enough to the point that it would be ineffectual. Forget the obvious that other developing countries would be vastly increasing CO2 output while we decreased but to get this bill passed they also had to make massive concessions in this country. Then, of course, for the non believers, it would be a massive tax in multiple ways on the American consumer which would further stunt the economy.
As I have said before if out idiot president had used the stimulus money to create green jobs of developing alternative energy and converting vehicles to run on natural gas, that would have much more effect than this; instead we're building turtle tunnels. |
