"I once was lost, but now am found..." - Sanford

Gov. returning to S.C. after worries, criticism over whereabouts - CNN.com

So he leaves the state, leaving his kids and wife alone on father's day, doesn't even tell the Lt. Governor, and supposedly goes hiking... but then there's this, from a fellow republican...

Quote:

But State Sen. Jake Knotts, a fellow Republican and adversary of Sanford, told CNN that South Carolina law enforcement officials informed him Saturday that the governor had taken a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division vehicle on Thursday and had not yet returned.

"I found out that he was taking frequent trips at odd times of the night in a SLED car with no security," Knotts said. "He would be driving. I got wind that he had taken another one of these types of capers last Thursday, and that nobody knew who he was with.

Everyone knows he's Republican. You know how they know? This is the 3rd thread on this topic. All from the usual left wing zealots.

Yup. Yet another Promise Keeper appears to have gone astray.

Brilliant. It reminds me of the loony left's reaction that really was a mainstream media reaction (which helps to explain their downfall) to Cheney's hunting accident with his partner.

Total, out of whack saturation.

The hypocrisy is deafening. 3+ threads on this none on Two separate US drone attacks have killed at least ten people in a Taliban-stronghold region of Pakistan. Imagine if the exact same thing happened 7 - 8 months ago. How many threads and numerous pages of dam Bush replies there would be?

Where the hell did you get that one?

The actual effect of the whole episode is simply that he's a sitting governor, going off the grid, leaving his state leaderless. His own Lt. Governor does not appreciate it.

I do think he's strange, for the record, though whether he's straight, gay, or bi isn't terribly important to me. I'm pretty sure it's as effed up to grab a state police car and just go driving for 4 days whether or not you have a sex partner with you.

But then, I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I can wait on that one.

Yea, I don't know what the big deal was all about. It wasn't like he killed someone in a dual. He had every right not to tell his boss that he just shot someone in the face. For Christ sake it was an accident.
