Obama weekend in NY only costed 250000 dollars

CURL: The cost of a NYC weekend - Washington Times

Quote:

One early estimate (from the New York Post) put the cost at $24,000. Absurdly low. The Daily Mail in London threw out another number — $75,000. Sure, three times as much as the first estimate, but still probably spectacularly low. Remember, joyriding Air Force One around for a few hours over Manhattan a couple months ago cost $250,000, so the cost of the weekend trip was likely not likely that low.

With the White House simply refusing to say how much taxpayer money it spent, here's a helpful way to calculate the cost of the trip:
Obama wants us to sacrify or cut back while he and his family enjoyed their evening together during the recession. I hope that he likes NY pizza.

Glad to see folks so vigilant over everything Obama does, seem to recollect that most of the presidents take weekend trips.. hope this watchdog standard continues for our future presidents as well.

Not sure how you come up with this "costed" figure.. but it is a guesstimate.

Man, I'm no Obama fan, but I don't know how someone manages (or why they would want to) dig up this much stuff and post it here everyday...

The cost of his weekend is .000001% of what it costs for the Iraq War every weekend.

The government should spend anything it wants - because it's "only a certain percentage of the Iraq war".

Imagine how a spendy wife could justify this one

Not sure I ever remember any rhetoric about not doing anything while in office.. perhaps the difference is his visibility in the US and doing things, versus others who prefer their ranches etc.

I hear you. And it's much akin to BDS, which spiked in the last 8 years. Oddly, it still seems to have not died out completely yet...

Good thing we have at least another 3+ (maybe 7+) years of similar behavior. I hate it from both sides, it cheapens legitimate political debate.
