Fodder deal. Hopefully he'll prove himself worthy on a good team.

Note that Reiss stated that there are $200K in incentives as well.
That's just one more of several contracts that we have heard about that include incentives. Miguel can confirm, but it is my understanding that in the final year of the CBA (before the uncapped year), any earned incentives would count toward this year, not next. Which would further imply that the Patriots would need to retain a larger-than-normal amount of cap space for incentives. In fact, in a normal year, the impact of incentives would be certain: whatever was earned the previous year from unlikely incentives and whatever was offered the current year in likely incentives. In this year, that figure is an uncertain amount. Another interesting wrinkle in the cap for this season. |

About how many dollars of NLTBE incentives could the patriots be on the hook for? When are they payable? Will teams need to count these on the day they are earned? In other words if a player has a game played incentive, will a team need to recognize the bonuses on the day of the game in which they are earned?
Personally, I would think that a bonus for playing in 10 games would be recognizes at the end of the last game of the regular season. Certainly incentives based on percentage of plays should wait until then. Quote:
