WEEI.com: Q&A with Jerod Mayo

Hey all ... I was just part of a group of reporters (including our own beloved SMY) that got a few minutes with Jerod Mayo here at Gillette Stadium. He touched on a number of topics, including what he wants to improve upon this offseason, his approach to weight training and whether or not he still considers himself a rookie. Hope you like it...

It Is What It Is Q&A with Jerod Mayo, 4/16

What a fantastic attitude he has! He's only been home ONCE this offseason, choosing instead to stay here and study film, work out,do whatever it takes to improve his game.

He also sounds like he's critiqued himself ,saying last year he knew the playbook but not well enough to react as he felt he should. He tried using his athleticism to make up for any mistakes,he says. Whatever he did must have worked, seeing as he was DROY!

Great interview, thanks for posting it Chris!

Mayo also says this about The Crab (and all the rookie LB's):
Quote:

On the bond between the younger linebackers like Vince Redd, Shawn Crable and Gary Guyton…
Most definitely. That’s the biggest area for improvement, from Year One to Year Two. That’s what we’re looking forward to. Crable got hurt last year, hopefully he can come back this year and prove the doubters wrong, because we all have a chip on our shoulder.
Good times,I can't wait:D

I wish he'd be a little more honest (;) but, yeah, I love Mayo; he's definitely part of the solution.

Reading that - sounds like a Patriot. Humble, hard-working and ready at every moment to KICK YOUR ASS. Love it.

Yes indeed, we do seem to get some great players on this team. What an honest fellow, and a good head on his shoulders. :)
