Deficit for first budget explodes to 2.6 TRILLION for first year, 3 week s ago the estimate was 1.8 T. CBO had 10years deficit estimate now of...close to 10 TRILLION over the course of his administration... IMO these are optimistic estimates.

BTW think about the retiring Baby boomers and the SS & Medicare funds spend more than they collect. Teleprompter boy is a freaking disaster in the making.

I forgot see what happens to SS and Medicare and the deficit when the 20mil illegals are given amnesty and bring in their relatives to collect Senior Citizen bennies....

They'll fix these (SS for sure, Medicare maybe) with means testing. It's "soak the rich time", why pay them SS money anyway ?

A one time asset tax of those worth over $1 billion would correct the problem. I bet if the tax was 5%, that would be enough.

Anyhow, it's over. There's nothing Obama could ever do to stop it, even if he took the exact opposite approach and spent next to nothing to "stimulate" the economy, like you RW drones pretend you all wanted.

He's trying, but it will fail. ... It will fail because 1) he's not changing the way money works, and 2) He's not recognizing (or acting on the fact) that it's all tied to the end of cheap energy.

I also excoriated Bush and the pubbie congress for their reckless spending. I was against the bailout. As a matter of fact almost no conservatives here (or in congres) supported the bailout, note I said conservative not republican.


He is trying to socialize the country and socialism isn't a sound economic approach. I do agree about the end of 'cheap money'.


I don't agree that there is nothing that could be done to speed theend of this recession. What he is doing will make thing far worse.

He mentioned that before. I can't find the thread where he gave the numbers - the problem is that they were from around 2007 and the assets of the rich have been decimated at least as much as the rest of us as most of their assets were in stocks. Somewhere on this forum Patters produced that link but the tax would be higher than he's suggesting.
