Example. A report may say that the Pats are currently under the 2009 projected cap by $25 million. If the report depends on the current 2009 salaries of Wilfork which is now $800,000, that report will overstate the amount of cap space as it is very likely that Wilfork's 2009 salary will be increased due to earned escalators.
