Some light but historical stats from the Patriots/Cardinals series

Just some information on this rare meeting between the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals

This is only the 12th meeting between these 2 teams in 34 years of the NFL

Last meeting was in Phoenix in 2004 - A 23-12 Patriots victory

The Patriots lead the series 7 wins to 4 wins

The Patriots are 2-1 at home against the Cardinals

The last meeting in New England was on September 15th,1996 where the Patriots blew out the Cardinals 31-0 !

The Patriots have a 3 game winning streak in this series

The Patriots are 1-0 against the Cardinals in December

I remember that 96 game really well. It seemed like the Pats were going to have another disappointing season starting 0-2 but that game turned it all around. Bledsoe and Martin had big games and the D made the Cards QBs look like idiots (I think Esiason was one of them that day).

Good stuff.

I actually have the 96 game on VHS....the game was a clunker until Bledsoe scrambled to the right and dove for the first down. In mid air he was hit and helicoptered around for the 1st down...it turned it around in that game.
