I found this quote to be very concerning. Like this is more than just an average groin pull and that it will require surgery or something. Am I just being paronoid?

Had a sports hernia repair, told me it was no big deal and construction workers often went back after 24 hours.. they lied, unbelievable pain.. remember after three days finally walk around the yard without doubling over, that was an accomplishment.

That's how I read it. It seems like he's just getting to a position where he can play with it. It may not need surgery, necessarily, it could just need more rest, but even so he'll be playing hurt.

Maybe he means he'll be playing through pain until the offseason where he can get surgery to fix the problem.
