Hasselbeck and Walter Jones likely out today

ProFootballTalk.com - HASSELBECK, JONES NOT EXPECTED TO PLAY

Considering the problems we have at OLB, that is a lucky break.

I don't care where these games are being played, it will be an embarassment if we aren't 9-5 in two weeks. We're being handed two wins, we'd better take them.

Two thoughts:
  1. I'm glad Hass isn't playing, but not for the reasons of competition. I think he's being playing with his career on the line. He needs to get better and prep for a comeback season next year. We won't likely face him anyway, and I hate to see guys like that throw away their careers by pushing their luck, especially with nothing to gain.

  2. I'm worried our D is going to looks studly today and this place will start to brim with too much confidence. Against this set up Rosie might look like a stud before spending an entire week encased in ice. Thinking more carefully about the Pitts game, our D was much improved and I think Deltha is going to start to show a lot more as we go, making the rush more possible. I just hope some kind of psycho defensive performance today is seen as minor progression, not a return to awesome-town.

Should be a good day and a blowout by us would not make me feel bad, even against such a team. We're lucky to have roster turmoil as it keeps each match from being a trap game.

I'm sure that the Jets thought the Oakland game was a sure win too. Any given Sunday! That's why I don't count em until they are done.

Looks like it's going to be another piss poor day for weather. Hopefully no where near as sloppy as last week. I am a little over a hour away from Seattle and it poured rain all night up here. Hopefully it was a little better down south.

We're into December now, and probably need to win all four games to make the playoffs. There isn't much opportunity to make up for giving a game away. Must-win game you can't lose to either Seattle or Oakland. If we do, we don't deserve the playoffs.

I'm not worried about overconfidence from the players' standpoint. They know the Seahawks' offense isn't very good and two of their best players will be out. The addition of Colvin and Seau will definitely help with making sure the team's attitude is right the right of the way. Seau especially is a strong veteran leader who is a huge upgrade in that area of keeping this team's attitude on track.

You never know what Oakland team will show up. They did beat the Jets and throttled Denver couple weeks ago. I will say it is a game we should win and if we aren't 9-5 then we definately aren't a playoff team.
