Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans join the homeless

Ethan Kreutzer joined the Army at the age of 17 and fought with the 19th Airborne in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. When he retuned home, he had no money, no education and no civilian job experience. He soon became homeless. He slept in an alley off Haight Street, behind two trash cans.

I wish the reporter would spend the 5 minutes to get the information correct. There is no f'in 19th Airborne, PFC Kreutzer was in the 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment, which is part of 18th Airborne Corps.

Why is that important? There are a ton of phonies out there and one of the quickest way to recognize that is by having a non-existent unit. It's an important story and the information needs to be put out there...but really get the information right first.

Hi bmfc31c , You might be right but how about 19th Airborne (see links)

The 19th SFG(A) is geographically spread across eight States (UT, WA, WV, OH, RI, CO, CA, TX). The Group Headquarters Company, the Group Support Company, and 1st Battalion (-) are located in Utah.

Yeah, I know about them but they are a National Guard unit. In military terms they would be referred to as 19th Group, not 19th Airborne.

I just hate to think that the kid will be thought as a phony due to a typo or poor editorship.
