1990 – Weis was defensive assistant and assistant special teams coach for the New York Giants. The Giants beat Buffalo, 20-19, in Super Bowl XXV and turned in what many consider one of the great defensive performances in championship-game history.

1993-94 – Weis was New England's tight ends coach. Ben Coates set a record for receptions by a tight end with 96.

1995 – Weis was New England’s running backs coach. Curtis Martin set a franchise rushing record and was named NFL “Rookie of the Year.”

1996 – Weis was New England’s receivers coach. Terry Glenn set an NFL rookie record with 90 receptions.

1997-99 – Weis was offensive coordinator of the New York Jets. The Jets offense improves from 279 points scored in 1996 to 348 in 1997. In 1998, the Jets scored 416 points (second best in team history to Super Bowl-winning 1968 team) and appeared in the AFC title game.

2000-04 – Weis returns to New England as offensive coordinator. The Patriots won three Super Bowls.

2001 – Weis added quarterbacks coach to his duties with the passing of Dick Rehbein. Sixth-round draft pick and second-year player Tom Brady replaced Drew Bledsoe as New England’s quarterback, and becomes one of the most successful QBs in NFL history. You think Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn is going to listen when Weis says "This is the way Tom Brady does it?"

2004 – New England scored 365 points in its first 13 games, and is on pace to shatter the franchise record for points scored.

weis IMO is the reason we haven't won a super bowl since 04(along with RAC). our coordinators now are weak. i hate the fact that mcdaniels had a pass happy offense last season. we need to get back to NE patriots football - run the ball down their throat. we are not the dallas cowboys or 49ers. I always loved Weis' gadget plays, like the end around to branch in the AFC Championship in 04'.

on D, RAC always had us playing physical. we are playing a more conservative bend don't break D now (but it's resulting in much more breaking than not).

hey for your sig, you should add that Bob Kraft called him Kyle Brady at the time. LOL. Then Kraft said, "I know who you are," etc.

our D has been the same as with RAC scheme wise. just not the same players.RAC struggled in 2005 with starks and beisel too.
Offensively,weis had his share of trick players and the pats WERE NOT a run the ball down the throat team after 2001. they are a game plan team which changes every week Diff between him and Mcd, weis knew when to call a changeup whereas mcd is a little more predictable.

Can someone help find an old 03 or 04 article about how the Pats lead the league in fewest dropped balls per catch among their wr/rb/te? I've been searching on cold hard football facts and can't seem to find it yet.

I think the emphasis on catching really helped us make key catches in big moments, basically make the play when it had to be made. It seems our percentage of drops has gone up from 05 onward.

2001-2005....Seymour was a stud. Now he cashes paychecks. Bruschi....same deal except smaller body and smaller checks.

lol yeah, like kraft is going to admit that he once called his franchise qb "kyle brady";)
