No, it has never been like this before. Maybe for some people during the 1850s or at the very beginning of America's Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in the late 1700s there were a few people who were taking things very seriously, and differences were very sharply defined. But it terms such basic and stark contrasts of philosophy and background, you can't can't more of a difference than Obama and McCain.

And today's unsettled feeling of what America is really all about, where indeed are we going, and how we are going to get there ... all these questions are producing an atmosphere of intensity that is greater by far than any election over at least the past several decades.

America is one people and one culture; we can never afford to allow ourselves to be broken down into many "sub-cultures", based on income, "celebrity", race, religion, or anything else.

Also, regarding NOW: something is definitely going on here. Hillary Clinton and Bill both speak very admiringly of Sarah Palin. They both acknowledge her natural talent and ability to speak to people; they like the fact that Palin is not afraid of expressing herself without apology. Plus, the fact that Palin can state her mind and even disagree with others without being unfriendly about it is really a breath of fresh air!!

Something's going on here ..... and it looks good.

Interesting endorsement, may be a kiss of death, as being endorsed by the head of the LA Chapter that supports equal rights, abortion and a bunch of other stuff that is usually associated with the left may not be the best thing for Sarah..

Mccain the hero of the Illegal Alien, the luke warm democrat should step aside and put Sarah at the top of the ticket.

The culture of diminished expectations and standards... funny how you support an endorser who believes in Abortion, Equal Rights and same sex marriage.. this does not seem consistent with your beliefs..
