Wow. That's sad. A young man with so much potential just lost his career and, to a greater extent, a "normal" life in a senseless shooting. He will be in my prayers.

Re: OT: Jags OT Collier paralyzed below waist, right leg amputated
They said Collier, who had 14 bullet wounds, is now in stable condition after being previously listed in critical condition.
Wow, I do not think I was an accidental shooting. Obviously, he was a target. I am amazed he is alive. Apparently, the shooter(s) do not believe in aiming for the head. |

Horrible result and him having to be in a wheelchair all his life but he is alive and god bless him in his future :(

It is a shame that this happened to him. I wish him all the best in his in the years to come.

OMG, 14 bullets?? Obviously, the gunman didn't use a revolver.

Re: OT: Jags OT Collier paralyzed below waist, left leg amputated
I have that same feeling in my stomach now, as when I did when I found out about Sean Taylor. Certainly, the results are different, but how can Collier lead a "normal" life with all the "what-if's" Best of luck to him and his family.

14 shots? He was lucky to stay alive. I knew a guy who was shot in the head and is still alive with a bullet inside his head.
The doctor told him that he would not live long BUT he has lived for years. |
Re: OT: Jags OT Collier paralyzed below waist, left leg amputated
I wish him all the best. Given the track of I suspect many professional athletes, namely you bet it all on your football career and ability to earn as a result of that career, I hope he was able to save some money. I hope he gets something from the NFL to take care of himself and any family he might have.
To any athlete this would be a huge blow (life changing to everyone but most people don't make a living from athletic participation). If it caught him at the beginning of his career, even more so. |
