So much for that "disdain"...going to be interesting to see the numbers on this.

Sorry, Florio says the Patriots already have Amendola lined up as WW's replacement, and Florio is never wrong.

Maybe not... maybe the disdain just took him in a different direction:

"Ok, I'll take a little less money per year. We'll say 4 years for 7 per, but once a year at my discretion, I get to slap Belichick across the face." :D

lol Florio and why can't pats have both? I think this whole slot receiver thing is overblown. Doesn't Welker end up playing outside quite a bit from time to time?

Florio is a certified Patriots hater, he is a nutter.

As I said in the other thread, the "disdain" was a very small part of Cole's report. This part from Giardi's story is totally in line with the real crux of what Cole said:

According to the source, the two sides have come to the understanding that they are far better with one another than without.

$7.5 mil/yr for 4-5 years sounds good :)

Brady to Welker is what made Wes his $$$

$30 Mil + is nothing to sneeze at. Add in the $10 mil he made last year, he should be set for life.

Every WR or TE will play outside once in awhile. Welker will line up outside, but hes used to work the middle of the field the vast majority of plays. Sure, he'll go deep a few times and what not, but hes not a burner and that isn't what his strengths are. He is a slot receiver, he lacks the top speed, length and height to be an outside receiver.
