The New York Jets, fresh off an exhaustive hunt for new general manager John Idzik, will explore options to deal star corner Darrelle Revis this offseason, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

As I said in the other thread... Hernandez for Revis.

(Gronk is off-limits!)

The team is using 2013 as a year for cap and budgetary housecleaning, to get situated for the future. It stands to reason that come 2014, both Revis and head coach Rex Ryan, are gone.
As Pats fans, I think that's the worst possible thing to hear. If the Jets tank in 2013 to clear out salary and get a good pick, then they could actually be good in 2014. I'd much prefer the Tannenbaum strategy of bandaiding the salary cap every year.

Yes. Revis is far better.

28yrs old in 2013 season. If Jets trade him, they want a #1 round draft pick.

I would not mind giving up our #1.

But, Revis will probably want a 4+ year contract for at least 10m/yr.

I'd do a 4yr contract, but for 8-9m/yr. But that's me.

Talib is 27yrs old in 2013 season. He probably wants at least 7m/yr.

I don't see them trading him within the division.

They'll have the worst roster at that point and a bottom 5 owner

I'm not going to read the article, but I will assume it comes down to money. Which might have not been as large a problem if Rexy wasn't shooting his mouth off right when Revis' contract was up.

We should offer something. I don't know what his contract is like besides being a lot of money, but man...just imagine. I highly doubt the Jets would deal with us just on principle, but still might as well take a shot.
