Will Talib be here next year?

I think he is a step in the right direction...get some more depth as well as him. He should still come pretty cheap being injured this year and all

I sure hope so. The defense was so much better with him. To bad he only played about half a quarter today.

He better be, or atleast someone who can replace him better than Arrington & Cole did

Between the hip and the hammy I'm a little concerned how reliable he is. They certainly need to either extend or replace him, though. They need to seriously upgrade that secondary...still. I know Bill has some developmental swiss army knife like binky's in the wings but the way fear of getting beat deep drove him tonight he has to get more talented players in that secondary and he has to be able to rely on them or what is immediately behind them.

They gotta get someone if not him. Might as well be him (if they feel he's not an injury risk that is).

Someone who can attack the QB would take SO much pressure off of the CBs. We don't have anyone on the D that can take over the game in the front 7 from a pass rush perspective

I will spontaneously combust if Ras-I Dowling contributes nothing to the Patriots in 2013. The Patriots really need him and Talib. Dennard has been a breath of fresh air in the secondary.

He better be. It wasn't a fluke that this D was garbage without him. His impact had a serious trickle-down effect, allowing McCourty to move to S, Arrington to the slot and allowing us to blitz more. Belichick finally found a reliable corner...it'd be a shame to let him go.

I sure hope so, he's looked great at Corner for us and a tandem of him and Dennard should be with us for the foreseeable future. It's not like there's anything so obviously better on the free agent than Talib anyway.

Re: Will Talib be here next year?

Instead of focusing on Talib, why not look at the remaining members of this secondary...I saw all of them in action up close tonight...Arrington is at best a nickel back, Dennard can play but is short, a fact easily discerned watching the Ravens WR's outjump and outposition him and everyone else tonight...and, until now, I was on the fence about Chung...please, I have no idea what you guys saw on TV but in person from like 10 yeards away I SAW him attempt to wrap Ray Rice with both arms and watched Rice easily break his tackle and waltz in for the TD...I have no idea what it is that Chung is SUPPOSED to be but it's not safety...at least not any kind of safety I am used to seeing.

That being said...zero pressure on Flacco except by Ninks...that was it...ZERO...that is NOT championship defense...they got beat at the point of attack the entire second half...by a team that was supposed to be "tired".
