I am embarrassed by many of the posts on this board

This is a good learning thread for those who want to open their eyes.

Thread was started in SEPTEMBER 2006!

It could have been started in February 2008 and would be just as timely.

Wow! Yep, it seems like spoiled brats to me like some Spankee fan who thinks they're entitiled to a championship trophy every year.
How different would this board be IF we won the SB this year & the same stuff were happening (Samuel gone / Gay too / Moss ?..). Actually, probably the same b*tching like teenagers. Amazing, Coach B & Pioli are not idiots who have proven in the recent how to contend for a SB year-in-year out.

Listen, a longtime poster like Sean Da Pat does make a good point: u do need to build around your franchise (Tom Brady ..why am I even stating who it is!?!?) with ammo like Moss. BUT, you don't sign him at the expense of your whole team (e.g. need that $ for defense more than anything & maybe a Tackle ..) that's the dilemaa - it's a very fine & tricky line that management is contending with which is maybe why they're treading carefully with Moss.

Slam the Red Sox when all else fails. I am very happy to be able to spend time at SOSH and Royal Rooters after reading so much sky is falling stuff here. Pink hats or not, I'll put SoxIQ at those places up against PatsIQ here, any time of year.

I'm not slamming the Red Sox I'm slamming the bandwagon riding pinkhats who now crowd Fenway and can't tell you if a baseball is blown up or stuffed. That same crowded pinkat filled bandwagon now stops at Gillette. Just read the whiney posts here for all the proof you need. ;)

Where did all the idiots and a-holes who have started posting here come from? I don't remember it ever being this bad. This used to be a great site, far better than most, the place a person could come for some good info (and occasional scrape, when necessary). But now, the majority of what I see here is utter CRAP: it reads like the uninformed, kneejerk reactions of dumdums and preteens. And it's giving us all a bad name. To wit: Bench Tom Brady. BB is an idiot. Pioli doesn't know what he's doing. The Patriots are done. And on and on and on. Don't get me wrong, I think criticism is legit., but many posts by members of this new doofus crew have had zero substance. This would be ok if these posters had at least *some* style, or flair, or insight or something funny to say, but most posts are just semi-illiterate raving.

Seriously, wtf is going on? Am I the only one who wants to see this board return to what it was?

Anyone?....Anyone?

Bueller?

*cough*

I must agree with you whole-heartedly Trot! I've said the same thing more than once. I think it peaked when the "Moss injures Woman's Pinky" story came out.

Patsfans members jumped on that rumor like it was fact. To me, it was as if a bunch of teenagers just heard their idol might have done something BAD. We had several threads with hundreds of responses. Talk about reactionary! And where is that story now? Nothing has changed and nothing has been resolved, we've just moved on to the next rumor....sad:rolleyes:

OK, pink hats, yes, they can be bandwagoners that'll surely drift away as soon as the Sox don't win a world series every few years. Same here WRT Pats fans and super bowls. Why I defend the Red Sox and their fans is because there is an undercurrent (from just a few probably) on this board that Sox fans are a bunch of negative whiners that head for the Tobin Bridge whenever the Sox lost two straight games. Maybe there are some like that, but the vast majority are good, knowledgable fans, probably the most knowledgable fans of any MLB team. Consequently, there are some great Red Sox message boards.

Back to the pink hats, hey, they're buying Sox or Pats gear, contributing to the coffers and helping in a small way to pay for ballpark/stadium upgrades, Moss's, or somebody's salary, etc.

Here is a thread from the clueless danny88.

To make excuse after excuse as to why it is ok that Randy Moss was not signed.

Randy opens things up for everyone. If this guy walks I cannot wait to hear all the homers try to justify a terrible mistake by the pats!

He has no idea what was being offered or what Moss wants, but he starts a thread like that anyway.

Reactionary means to be against progress, not to have opinions.

FYI.

All the people who say 'player X' has to come back, he's a true Patriot etc etc are reactionary. People who post to a message board about breaking (and potentially big) news aren't.

No, reactionary means to respond without knowing the facts. Looking back on the Moss non-story, we can now say that those who jumped on that story as if it were fact were very foolish.

Amen PNM, that has to be the most embaressing thread I've read in a long time. It's too bad he's still getting responses.

No.

re·ac·tion·ar·y (rē-ăk'shə-nĕr'ē) pronunciation
adj.

Characterized by reaction, especially opposition to progress or liberalism; extremely conservative.
n., pl. -ar·ies.

An opponent of progress or liberalism; an extreme conservative.

Nothing personal--it's misused a great deal and it's just one of my little ticks. I happen to believe words mean things and should be used according to their meaning. Again, nothing personal.

From the immortal words of Bill Belichick .....

"it is what it is"

agreed I've seen some stupid ones, "would you still be a pats fan if brady left?" this guy just tattooed himself as a bandwagoner. I remember a ways back "Do you have a man crush on Tom Brady?" Some things on this board just make me sick these days

You just proved my point. An act "Characterized by reaction" would be one that is NOT characterized by logic. When Webster defines a word, it is in order of most common useage and in this case "Characterized by reaction" is the first definition.

Nothing personal. I agree with your philosophy of words having meaning.

It started with all the new fans that came on board during and after 2001. Everything was fine until they lost in Denver and didn't win 3 SB's in a row. All the newbies started panicking expecting perfection. It's terrible. I can remember when strategy used to be discussed on here.

Remember all the crying when Givens walked ... about the same as for Moss now and we all know Givens is no Moss ... we always carry on.

Too many bandwagon Pat fans ready to bail out, i think... WE WILL GET OUR REVENGE NEXT YEAR, BABY !!!

B-U-M-P-E-D, for all the chicken littles around here.

Maroons.

Sincerely,

Trot.

Funny, I read the first post without reading the date. I thought it was just posted a few minutes ago.

I guess this crap goes on every year?
