I honestly feel CJ has track speed and not game speed. When you figured he'd pull away on routes with his speed the cb stayed with him stride for stride.

I'd be happy with 30 catches from him.

29. Chad Jackson, WR, New England Patriots: He has had two injury-plagued seasons that have limited him to 13 catches. That should change now that he's healthy. With Donte' Stallworth gone to the Cleveland Browns, the Patriots need a third receiver to step up. Jackson has the size and speed. Now that he's a year-and-half removed from a torn ACL, this is his time.
Apparently Jabar Gaffney hasn't stepped up as our third receiver.

He played in only 12 games as a rookie, and IIRC, a lot of the time he was in to block on running plays. In a few of those games, I thought I remember seeing him get separation but fail to pull in the pass. There was some frustration around him, but I didn't think it was his speed.

I guess we will see. With track speed he should be blowing guys away along with his size and strength

Chad Jackson is borderline a God.

I think certain plays will be geared toward Jackson. We saw Stallworth
take those little wr screens and make some big plays. Of course, we can put
him opposite Moss and send them both deep. This will keep the safeties
deep. And open up a canyon in the middle of the field for Welker and B.
Watson to work. Maybe, can even run some reverses for him.

1) While he only started 9 games.....he saw plenty of action before he started. However, if you take away his 17 tackle Buffalo game and his 24 tackle redskin game (both jet losses) his stats are very ordinary, actually. I am not trashing Harris by any means, wish we had him.

2) Playing Hobson as an OLB seems to me to be out of position- yet he still started 14 games. However, was probably the best thing that ever happened to Victor as it paved the way for him to come here.

Good players (his 2006 numbers look prety good to me) tend to play very well when they play on very good teams.......Hobson will fit right in playing a position better suited for his skills,in the middle where his smarts and technique (rarely gets beat one on one) will enable him to do very well here.

This will be a great addition for NE and because of that it will reflect negatively on Mannotsogenius.

What are you talking about? I'm a huge pats fan, but posts like this are unreal. Harris is average if you take away two of his best games? Why would you take them away......stupid. What if we applied the same logic to Moss, and took away games vs easy teams, and only focused on what he did the second half of the season. You don't take away certain games, and add others to try and prove your point.

I can only imagine how popular Chad Jackson will become around here if he actually does something to contribute to the team.

I wouldn't read all that much into where he lined up in mini-camp. 2 of the 5 WRs likely to be on the team (Welker and Washington) did not practice due to injury. If Welker sits out, Gaffney is really the only other option to play the slot. It doesn't say anything about who is going to be the other outside WR in the 3 WR set when everyone is healthy.

Please God tell me you are kidding. Hobson is addition by subtraction, and don't for one second think I'm saying that because he went to the Pats, where in fairness he could be a pretty decent rotation guy. He was a God awful starter though.

I agree. Hobson might be okay for the Pats, used differently, but he's ZERO loss for the jets.

1.Moss
2.Welker
3.Gaffey
4.Jackson

I think that during this upcoming season Chad Jackson will be the Gaffey of '07
