Let's step our game up Offense! I added the "levels" together of all our offensive and defensive starters and these are the totals I came up with:

Offense - Combined for Level 129
Defense - Combined for Level 133

I figured a little friendly rivalry could help the good of the team.

Aaah, my toon gets the gamewinner and he get dropped from the starting lineup? What's up with that?

I'm always going to put the highest level players in the starting positions. It's only fair because those are the players who are dropping the most money and time on the game.

I posted on the team forum in the game but haven't heard yet, I want to make sure Pio Sagapolutele is signed through the rest of the year, his contract runs out midseason I believe. I don't need a raise right now, I'm on relaxed training most of the time to get back to 100% in time for the next game. Thanks!

I had to release a couple of CPU players who were not needed, then I also needed to release Brandon Fairweather because his owner wanted that player on one of his own teams and I didn't want to make him wait until his contract ran out.

So far it seems like the best way to do it is all in one go but maybe my math is wrong.

That was really a big favor you did me there, thanks. Sorry to be jumping off the site's team but I had some friends join on the teams I own and they constantly pile on me if we lose :)

Good idea, so I expanded on it a little and found that, while the defensive is slightly better than the offense on average, the offensive backups are better than the defensive backups, and the roster is skewed a little towards offense with 24 offensive players to 20 defensive players.

(Sorry for the image, I couldn't find how to create a table using the editor)

I'm going to PM you an answer in private because I DID drop cash on this game and I feel it's unfair for you to assume that I didn't just cos I'm only one level behind the other guy. I maxed out my custom equip shortly after I found out we won the game so that my receiver would be even more unstoppable.

Don't sweat it, there are plenty of snaps to go around. The best players should start, and I really don't see how you can debate that.

Besides, that was a hell of a win, which is what we should be concentrating on. We just thrashed a good team. Barkley came through with his weekly two INTs, Maximoff shut down his side of the field again, for the most part, Brady threw for two TDs, Paulin and Maroney each rushed for one, Kazenzakis filled up his stat line with 3 tackles, 2 hurries, a sack, one pass defensed, a fumble forced, and a fumble recovered. AD contributed a sack of his own, Cason and Barkley both forced fumbles... what's to be upset about?

Also, Kazenzakis and Tank both leveled up to 14 during the game, so those tables might be about to get a bit more skewed.

Wow another good win, nice job by big D!

Excellent work apple

Well, in my view it's your work and I just stole some of it. :)

And what a fantastic win - they were rated as the overall better team 27-24 but it looks like maybe having the homefield advantage helped us out.

Of course, I'll have to watch the tape to really know. :D

Edit: the teams are actually rated even, but a couple of days ago they weren't (to my recollection). Looks like some good moves by the front office helped us out.

Edit 2: Jeez, we were on the road. :bricks: Even more impressive.

Probably a combination of luck, home field, better player leveling (some people use horrendous builds), matchups, and better gameplanning.

1 catch, 1 drop and 1 fumble recovery on special teams for Benjamin Walter.

Excellent forced fumble by College Cason, and I'm pleased to pick up the trash. :D

Our blocking and Run D are better, everything else but kicking is even. Their 'edge' in kicking gave them the 27, and us a 24 - but looking at the 'real' numbers, we should have been slightly better (kicking doesn't matter :D )

GREAT WIN over the defending champs, too! woohoo!

Just a general question about the game: my player is an OLB and we're playing a team that runs to one side alot it seems. I've shifted my advanced tactics to focus on the run... does anyone have experience with doing this and knows if its detrimental/beneficial?

my DB forced a fumble? not bad...ill have to check his stats now

OLB that focuses on the run is less likely to fall behind a play by rushing the passer and leaving his side exposed to the rush. As far as I know, that's about it.

also i would like to give props to kazenzakis

whoever he is, the guy played like a beast...

Hahaha, thanks, he's one of my guys. Kazenzakis, Maximoff, and Tank = me. Kazenzakis is definitely my stat guy, though. Tank occasionally busts out the tackles, but mostly just plugs the middle. Maximoff hardly ever gets any stats, mostly because nobody ever really throws his way (he averages about 2 passes defensed+tackles per game this season). For a corner, I'll take it. He shut down Schweinsteiger today (level 17 WR) in mostly man coverage, so I'm pretty pleased with that.

Just posted this on the team forum as well:

FYI- We have matching 5-1 records. Beating them would bump us up to #2 in the division, and if the Bearcats lose as well, we could go up to #1. We should definitely plan this game out pretty meticulously, and try to gain every tactical edge possible.

Advantage Breakdown--
Overall: Equal
Receiving: New England
Blocking: Equal
Rush Defense: New England
Passing: New England
Rushing: Auckland
Pass Defense: New England
Kicking: New England

This should be a winnable game, although it's worth noting that they have a beastly OL. Right guard and right tackle are their weaker points. Whoever plays LDE should have a field day on these guys, with their ROT only being L11. Their weakness is clearly at defensive line- so we should have all day to pass into their generally average secondary. Their ROLB is garbage, so we'll want to incorporate that into our gameplan somehow, likely running primarily to our left. Maximoff will have his work cut out for him guarding Kuhlman, but I see another interception or eight for Barkley if they try to pass to McBall.
