I definitely should not have left Vrabel out of this poll. Not sure how I failed to leave him in. I\'d still vote for Wilfork, but Vrabel would probably be #2 in my opinion.
I was just about to post the same thing. While Wilfork deserves the vote based on the season he had, overall, Vrabel should have been includled in the poll. He had one of his best years as a Patriot on defense.
1 Wilfork (can't believe he lasted that long in his draft)
(2 Samuel - departed)
2 Warren (still no pro bowls)
3 Vrabel (does this guy have more career TDs than Watson??)
4 Thomas (will be #1 for upcoming yr)
5 Seymour (paid like the #1)
(6 Colvin - departed)
6 Harrison (Pioli bought him a Ground Round cheesburger to get him here)
7 Bruschi
8 Green (this guy is going to want to go somewhere to start)
9 Seau (on heart only)
10 Sanders (thought he would be higher before the year started)
11 Hobbs (would have been higher but for last defensive play of season)
(12 Gay - departed)
12 Meriweather (reserve)
13 Wilson (would have been lower if not for 2nd Jets game)
14 Wright
18? Lekevin Smith (for Keegs)
99b - Alexander (AFCCG 07)
reality, none of them was really a standout. wilfork had a strong 1st half, but tailed off in the 2nd half and did nothing in post season. colvin might have been but of course he went out. thomas showed some signs of being an impact player late in the season, but not enough to say anything definitive now.
Wilfolk without a doubt. He makes it happen for everyone on defense. Woulda been Seymour if he was healthy last season but Wilfolk just destroys O-line.
