Hahaha, I knew I was something, wasn't sure what though. Thanks!

Looking ahead to our next game, we're at a disadvantage. It looks like other teams caught up to us in the offseason. Basically, I'm not sure that we can keep starting level 6-8s. Players have had the opportunity to flex up 6 full levels by now, so starting anyone under level 9 or so puts us at a pretty significant disadvantage. Anyone who isn't up there in levels, I'd think long and hard about flexing up, because a full starting lineup of level 10+ should be pretty doable.

I'm at level 7 but I only have 100 flex points. I'd need some referral points to get more, I don't think I'm going to buy any. Question though, is the same attribute number better at a higher level? So is say tackling at 30 better at level 10 than 30 at level 6? I just don't know how it works.

I don't believe so, no. 30 tackling is 30 tackling, regardless of level. Leveling up just makes you more able to build a complete, well-rounded player, or become extremely good at a select set of skills to a degree that a lower-level player is incapable of. If a level 10 concentrates on tackling as much as a level 6 does in getting to 30, then the 10's tackling will be closer to 45 or so.

Ok, so Welsh is a level 7 right now, and I'm buying more flex points so that he'll be a level 9 pretty soon, which is as much as I level up this season. He's going to need a new contract soon, if he want to continue training.

We still have a bunch of inactives taking up roster space.

Maybe we should look into picking a cutoff date for inactivity, and cutting/replacing people who haven't logged in in say 15-20 days.

Yeah. We've pretty much plumbed the depths of players from this site who want to play so at some point this season we're going to have to bite the bullet and start bringing in non patsfans.com players because there's clearly a difference between teams with players who are all boosting across the board and teams with players who aren't.

Not to mention some of our guys go inactive at intense training and come into the game already at an energy disadvantage.

I just don't wanna start cutting people from this site yet. :(

Did you get my message in the game about a new contract offer?

I'll be happy as long as i stay there i would love to start but i''ll take it for the team and stay on the beanch i really shoudl try ot get some refferal points

Is it for fun or is it for winning? A game like this should be for fun, in my opinion. Maybe we can make another team for Patsfans people that frees you to pursue better players.

A big problem with this game is that the people who pay for flex points will always be ahead of those who don't. Even those who didn't boost as early as season 1. There's nothing a user can do to get caught up. It's a pretty important balance problem that can ruin the game for newer players.

I don't care if someone can't afford to flex. If they are actively playing then they should be on the team. I don't think fnord was planning on cutting anyone just because they're not boosting. Lower level players will end up being on the depth chart, but like I said before, depth is important and everyone will be getting plays.

The main problem is with people who haven't logged into the game in 2-3 weeks.

Meh I don't care man. I'm going to do what I think is most fair for the most players and most of our players boost. I'm not going to kick someone who doesn't boost off the team but yeah they'll lose their starting role to someone who does boost to a level above them.

I'm always going to favor the people who put more into the game and I can't think of any reason why I shouldn't.

Nice win, guys.

Our kicker even forced a fumble after his own kickoff. Too bad we didn't recover it too, lol.

Allright, thats what I'm talking about!

Cav Trooper with 3 tak, 1 FF and 1 PD - that speed boost I gave him really seemed to help - twice he ran all the way across the formation to stop a RB for short gain.

Speed kills!

Just joined because it seemed pretty popular among people on this board over the past month. However, I already joined a Developmental CPU league because I was stupid and did not read after the link in post 1. Though I assume that many teams have already stocked up so my player can bake in the oven and then make the jump to a real team.

Anyway, I created Bunk Mooreland (after a character in the TV show "The Wire") who is a linebacker, because with my username I pretty much had to.

Great win! The Flying Monkeys are rated better overall as a better and we still won. Although I've been eying the matchup stats and they don't seem to have much bearing on the outcome of games.

It's also good to get back in on special teams - I don't know why but half the time I don't get snaps on special teams, but it's nice to contribute there.

Next up is the Meteors (the team names leave something to be desired) who match up well with us. We're a better receiving team while they're a better kicking team.

I think it's strange that the Flying Monkeys are better at blocking than we are (and overall) but we still managed to win. I guess I'll go through the replays to see what happened, but I would expect the better blocking team, unless they're horrid elsewhere, to get the win.

I just watched the first half. Our passing game and our defense really saved us. Defense is awesome, tons of deflections, an interception deep in their territory, and good run stuffing. Our offense can't really sustain drives, we punted a ton and had very few long running plays. We could stand getting a better push from the offensive line.

Off to the 2nd half.

Making a quick observation on 1 offensive series in the 3rd quarter, with about 5 minutes left. We had

1 under throw
1 over throw
1 dropped pass

I also noticed on a running play in the first half that might have gone for good yardage that the halfback overran the pulling guard so much that the defender made the easy tackle. The guard was so slow in this case that even though he was pulling it was like there was no blocker there, the back was essentially 1 on 1 with the first defender.

Not criticizing here, just trying to point out areas we can improve. My guy can't even crack the starting line-up! :D
