1. Draft "analysts" don't deserve the title of analysts. "Glomists" would be a better term. (though I give Mayock a pass...the man was the only person adding any value over the weekend).
2. Draft "grading" before anyone has played at the NFL level should be banned. How can you give a grade when you haven't been tested?
3. Our Offensive line is fine. How many sacks did we allow last year? BB looks at a body of work, not, as the media "pundits" do, the last game.
4. Cassel, your days are numbered. Time to step up, or step out.
5. Maroney, thier faith is building in you.
6. Whoever said Meriweather was going to CB is a moron.
7. Seymour might be finally healthy again.
8. BB likes to build QBs, not buy them.

You make some good points and one which is very bad.

Regardless as to whether you, as an individual, believe that Merriweather will not be a CB does not give you the right to call anyone who believes the opposite to be a moron.

Their opinion, and thats all it is an opinion, is no less valid than yours.

I am surprised that Cassell stayed even this long. At least he will have some stories to tell his grandchildren as to how he made it to the NFl and to a good team.

I agree with you that our offensive line is fine. It is good and still young. Most of the problem in the Super Bowl was because their was no change in offensive strategy or play calling until the 4th quarter and by then it was too late. The Giants kept doing what they were doing because they knew what we were doing and we kept doing it rather than change.

You are correct, the offensive line is fine.

I like your thinking there...not just finally healthy again but also in the weight room going nuts strengthening it. Gimme the Dominant Seymour back with this team and we could make another 18-0 run and finish the thing this time 19-0 baby

So I guess you don't like Josh McDaniels then, huh?

Anyone can have a bad game. Its a shame his had to come in the Super Bowl.

Oh well, no ones perfect.

I STILL think it's possible Meriweather gets moved to CB, and I'm one of those who was mocknig others for this theory months ago. I don't think drafting two CBs necessarily changes that, 'though I hold open the possibility that it might.

A lot will be contingent on what happens with Law and Shepherd. Both are still options.

In either case, Merriweather would make a perfect corner, IMO. Size, instinct, and I believe he has the ability to be a good one on one cover man.

And he has learned.

Not quite understanding how people are seeing him moving into a CB role. He showed lots of promise playing in space, and overtook E. Wilson on the FS depth chart. We drafted a CB in the second round, and signed a starter in F. Bryant. There is also talks of T. Law coming back...Apparently he looks like he added more muscle as well in the off season per the Globe. I am not seeing any indication that he could or should be moved.

On #1, I got a lot out of listening to the ex-QBs discuss what Brohm does well. It affirmed a lot of my thinking about the college QBs. They raved about Brohm, and had not great things to say about Henne.

They also showed a lot of video on Brohm that gave you a glimpse of the things he does well. The kid is Drew Brees' clone.

I don't know about the rest of you but I was tired of Charles Davis on NFLN repeatedly saying that he can't understand why the Pats didn't draft an OL because of the last game in the Super Bowl.

Has anyone noticed mabye they have some confidence in Chad Jackson too? with no real WR pick

That's not what you usually say, NEM.

At first I thought you were reaching due to some vague familiarities. Now I think you're on to something, and I don't think I'm the only one who thinks so...LOL

It's NEM, it really is! Search feature is a nice tool.

I do agree that the Oline is not an issue that HAD to be addressed. It was one game and failure to adjust (scheme-wise) was a big part of the problem.

If they intend to be a pass first team, and the re-signing of Moss would lend me to believe that will be the case here for the forseeable future, they better pass protect better. It would be helpful if they returned to a more balanced offense, but for that they may also have to figure out how to zone block better.

It is worth noting that on a % basis we were 11th best at not getting the QB hit despite taking the 3rd most hits because we threw so damn much. So while we need to protect The Franchise, limiting the number of throws would likely be more effective than hoping to pass protect better because the pass protection wasn't that bad, it was just overwhelmed by the numbers.

I'll second that one, and it seemed like Mike Mayock was a little perturbed by it too (though not as irked as he obviously was by Jamie Dukes). Put me in the camp that believes the pass protection problems experienced in SB XLII were mostly due to the coaching staff's lack of adjustments and not necessarily the performance of the OL. Nevertheless, I was a little surprised that the OL was not addressed in the draft, the reason being the durability concerns of Stephen Neal. I felt the same way about the absence of any TEs being drafted. Maybe this is a sign from the FO that the injury concerns at these two positions are not as serious as it may seem.
