When will SI stop saying we're concerned about Bills?

Past performance is not indicative of future results.

Would you be impressed with Pats performance in 07.? As far as i'm concerned, pats has been the king of AFC east division while yours and the rest of the teams are behind for 5 years.

Yes, we are gladly to give you this number 1 spot if yours can take it.

I just wonder how long you can keep losing players before it starts to catch up with you... it's foolish to think it can go on forever.

Salary cap hurts. A lot of good pats players went to other clubs while yours don't go anywhere for a long time. It speaks the quality.

If it is not a salary cap issue, pats will retain all their good players. People come and go.

Great points on this thread, I'm so tired of people using the Bills as their "trendy" pick. How about you get into the playoffs sometime this decade before we consider you a contender.

Now, the team I worry about the most in the AFC is Denver. That team scares the crap out of me because if that Cutler kid can get himself going, and that chop blocking o-line can get its act together, they could have a very good season. And Denver in the Playoffs always sucks.

The teams I anticipate falling off are the Browns (cause they are the Browns) and the Jaquars. For some reason, I just don't see the jags surprising anyone this season and see the Texans and Titans playing them a little tougher this year. And until they beat the colts twice in the same season, they aren't "there" yet.

It caught up with us in 2005, then we caught up with the rest of the league before having the misfortune playing a team that, honestly, had our number in the divisional round. Do you honestly think the Steelers would have been in the SB if the Pats had not played the Broncos?

hey! Watch it :D

and honestly, I rooted for Denver. I always root for Denver to play the Pats in the Playoffs. :singing:

If I were a Steelers fan, I would too!..

I find it fascinating the difficulty some teams have with one or two particular teams. Denver is the piece of meat that gets stuck between your teeth and you can't get it out for us...if only we had some floss!

That should change this year though..... hopefully.

Colts own the Broncos in the Playoffs, Steelers own the Colts, Pats own the Steelers, Steelers Denver is now a toss up game since we won the AFC title in their house, Colts and Pats has become a coin toss game since Colts won the last playoff game between them. Pats own the Chargers, Charges own the Colts.

Funny how that happens. I love it. And I love how some fans root for teams they can't stand to beat teams they know have their teams number. Like me rooting for the Broncos to beat the Pats.

every year we have to hear some nonsense about how the bills are the "team to watch" that they've "flown under the radar screen" that they will "challenge for a playoff spot" and that the "pats are concerned." you kidding me? the day we focus our main attention on those losers is the day our dynasty is officially over. and folks, it's far from over ....

Hmm.. You don't think that the Bills are a threat? You do realize that when we played Buffalo in the 2nd game last year they were missing 5 out of 7 starters in their back 7 and another 3 or 4 of their primary reserves. So the Pats were going against Buffalo's 2nd, 3rd and in one cast 4th string players.

If you are ignorant enough that you want to dismiss Buffalo as a potential threat after they went 7-9 with all the players they had missing, go right ahead. I can tell you know that BB won't be like that. And neither will the team.

werent they like 31 in offense and 30 in defense last year? you call that progress over the last 2 years? LOL . come on man, you don't change that overnight.

Part of the reason was injuries. If you want to be ignorant about that, go right ahead. You'll just give everyone another reason to dismiss you.

That Pats will always be good as long as they have Brady, but I still think the division is ours in 2009.

Who is talking about the past? Let's look to the future... the Bills are in much better shape for the future than the Patriots. We are one of the youngest teams, you are one of the oldest. The Pats have lost a lot of key players this year, the Bills haven't lost anyone, and they keep gaining.

Really? The Pats lost a "lot of key players"? Who might they be?

Asante Samuel? OK over-rated Pro-Bowl Corner who choked in the limelight.
Randall Gay? Hasn't been the same since his consecutive years of injury. He didn't exactly light it up last year as the nickle-back.
Rosie Colvin? Yeah, losing him does hurt. But, the Pats have Adalius Thomas, Shawn Crable and Pierre Woods behind Thomas and Vrabel now. Oh, and possibly Bo Ruud.
Stallworth? Disappeared in the 2nd half of the season pretty much. Was not much of a factor in the play-offs.
Kyle Brady? - Missed a few games to injury and went down in the SB to injury. Spach actually was blocking better than Brady was against the Jags.
Eugene Wilson? - Started the year as a starter. Was riding the bench by the time the SB came around.

Now, Go take a look at the Pats starters. I think you'd be surprised at how young they are. All of their starting O-line except Neal is under 30. ALL of their starting D-line is under 30. I can't speak about the starting LBs and starting DBs because they are all up in the air.

Sorry if I don't put much stock in the idea that the Bills are going to be better because they MIGHT be an over-all younger team.

i just wish BB hadn't dismissed the Giants. the game plan was the tired old one we had used earlier in the season when we blew a number of teams out. but after that teams adjusted and found ways to defense that plan. we never adjusted even though we supposedly had versatile personel and the best coaching staff ever. not saying our guys are bums, what i think happened is all the media/spygate distractions got the better of our guys and they lost focus, got stale and got beat. but somehow i don't share the same concern for the lowly bills who themselves got beaten at home late in the season by the giants.

Yeah, but that game was a 3 point game in the 4th quarter and was a game we had nothing to play for in.

As another Bills fan, I don't see us contending for the AFC East title this season, but I do see us contending for a wild card. We literally lost no one other than fat load Larry Tripplett off of our team last year and will be getting back Posluzsny, Ko Simpson and 3rd DE Ryan Denney from injury (those were the main guys out for almost all of the year last year) in addition to the upgrades of Mitchell (love to see his delayed blitz work for us this season!), Stroud and Johnson in FA on D and the two rookies I expect to make an immediate impact, Hardy and McKelvin.

On the youth point, it's also worth pointing out that our O line gave up something like 26 sacks last season (a franchise record) and was starting three new guys in doing so. That unit played together for 15 out of 16 games and got Jason Peters elected to the first of what I suspect will be many Pro Bowls at left tackle--not bad for an undrafted FA TE (and even better, he's signed through 2010 at a reasonable price). Having that under their belt will be huge, as will the experience that Lynch and Edwards picked up.

All that said, I see you guys going 12-4 or 13-3 next year (you know you're going to get everyone's SB this year--like you did last year the last month and half of the season when you had a number of close games), barring an injury to Brady--if that happens, I see you guys as 8-8 to 11-5. I'm still not sure why you haven't picked up a vet QB option behind him, but that's up to Pioli and BB. I see us as likely going in the neighborhood of 9-7 or 10-6. One more draft and one more offseason without losing anyone of consequence (our two big FAs next year are Lee Evans (working on an extension as we speak) and Angelo Crowell, who we could franchise if we get Lee done) and I think we're in the mix for the whole thing, all, of course, subject to Trent Edwards proving to be an above-average QB, which is admittedly a big if, but he has shown potential as a rookie. Just MHO......

Who pissed in your Wheaties this morning? If I read correctly, isn't this thread about the Bills and how they relate to the Pats? What's the matter, Matt Walsh got your panties in a twist?

You lost the Superbowl, you lost those six guys, and you say you're not worried this season? That you're going to be better? OK... but I guarantee you will miss Asante. "Overrated pro bowl CBs" don't grow on trees, as the Bills learned with Nate Clemens.

The funny part is, he is the one who started this thread!! LMAO!!!

Bud, you're only on this board as a courtesy. You have no business being here. You need to be on the Bills board where you can pretend that this is the year you turn it around and finish 8 & 8. LOL.

When they beat us.

Man, you have SO much hope tied to....

MATT WALSH...MATT WALSH...MATT WALSH...MATT WALSH...

I've told you once, and I'll tell you again. Mr Walsh has nothing that will affect the Patriots. He's a proven liar. His friends even tell stories of his lies and grandiosity.

You LIKE to think we're worried about Matt Walsh...but the only time we ever think of him is when haters like you love to throw his name out there on OUR board.

Just wait until the day Goodell announces,

"I have considered all the information Mr Walsh has given us and have decided there is no way to substantiate what he has to say. He has no proof and therefore I must dismiss his statements in there entirety.":D

I like to think that there will be some sort of illustration in a dictionary of Matt Walsh depicting a venereal disease or some sort of itch.

Does anyone else here ever wonder if Fanetic is that angry looking Bills fan that was captured off game film. Remember the one we had posted here with the guy pissed off because we were scoring ANOTHER TD in the closing minutes.

He looked like he wanted to kill someone. I bet that was Fanetic!;)

The Bill are a loser team with loser fans. The only way I would ever start being concerned about this team is if they move to another city, e.g. LA. Then they might become a threat once that get away from loserville aka Buffalo where hope goes to die.
