Bears not ruling out trade for Hester
Apr/24/08 02:33 AM Filed in: Devin Hester

The Associated Press reports Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said the team does not anticipate trading WR Devin Hester and have not had any discussions with other teams. However, Angelo said if a trade became available that would make the team better, they would look to possibly trade.

Please dont say the 1st rounder please oh please dont say that

he is a kick returner at best and look what happened to D-Hall after 3 or 4 years of that he broke down and is now all but out of the league. not worth anything over a 4th rounder

I agree kick returners even the best are flashes in a pan. Most only have a short run at being a dominant returner and then fade away.

He would benefit from the best coaching in the NFL, and more than likely line up as a receiver.

I'd rather not have a player who can be shutdown by kicking the ball out of bounds.

Not worth it at all

The most important thing a kick returner does is catch and hold on to the ball. A lot of guys can do that. The role is not worth investing a lot in (LOL Miami).

You have to admit that the guy is a game-changer. He single-handedly won Chicago a few games.

Have you ever thought who's blocking for the guy? I mean it's not like he's running over and through defenders. If you watch the guy has wide open lanes to run through. More credit needs to be given to the entire return team, I think the Bears know that.

You know what else is a game changer: our offense. I guess if you had an inept offense like the Bears a game-changing return man would be high on your list. But we don't need the guy. If he could actually play cornerback, that'd be something different.

This is a non-story. If there was a trade available that would 'make the team better' the Colts would trade Peyton Manning.

It doesn't mean Manning is going anywhere.

This article is just some bored reporter who asked a question at a PC and is trying to build it up into a story when it isn't.

Some people really would trade for the magic beans. :D
