please stop kissing krafts @ss... he has NEVER done one thing that didnt line his pockets.

Real easy toMOnday morning QB ...I suppose you had bet a million on the Giants too??

and yes, new england easily could have built any stadium... ne is the biggest sports market in north america... if you dont think so, try buying a ticket to any sport, anywhere

With whose money - yours? Taxpayers? Private funds?? Come on genius tell me where the money was coming from. Stadiums LOSE money.

After you figure that out - tell me where it was going to be built.

Don't let 42 years of failure in the greatest & biggest sports market in America sway your thinking now.

and no, kraft did NOT build the stadium with "his own money"... he borrowed the money, and jacked up the tickets, and put in the corporate seats to pay for it... kraft DID NOT PAY FOR IT... the season ticket holders did...

Tell me what you woudl have had if he didn't step up??

Tell me who woudl have paid for those loans if things had not worked out?

Risk = reward

Every sane financial mind told the Krafts to take Orthweins money and run.

Ecery sane financial mind told them to overpay for the Patriots was idiotic and not wise at all.

Every sane financial mid told him a stadium, with private funding (his) was a losing proposition.

what is getting lost in this argument is that the team was very well heading to st louis if Kraft did not step in. Yes this market may have dictated that another football team come here but the Patrios could have been gone. Look at houstan, look at cleveland, would you want to go thru what they did.

Kraft saved this team and he did it with the idea he could line his pockets too. Oh my god he is the devil because he wants to make money on his investment.

The Bucs raised lower level prices from $76 to $99. Guess what ******, thats the same 30% increase and they suck.

Maybe you need to WTFU and realize that the dollar isn't worth the paper its printed on and a billionaire like Kraft knows this more than anyone else. The price of gas has gone up 50% in the last year and meanwhile your house has probably gone down 25% in value. If you want to ***** about getting economically ass raped, Kraft isn't even in the top 10.

Oh, btw, GFY.

$99 for lower level seats in Tampa this season; what an outrage . That's what I paid in 2002.

What was your point again? I'm no mathematician but $169>$99.

Well, I guess I have a few more things to say.

First off, it is the season ticket holders that will pay the price. It is so easy to sit on the sideline (not season ticket holders) and make judgments. Easy indeed. It is kind of like people that don't like our government and don't vote. Blah, blah, blah. So boring. Vote please.

We as season ticket holders have a right to complain about what is happening. It is clearly unfair. Me, I have decided to forgo 34 years of season tickets because I feel it is a total and complete ripoff.

So life goes on. The corporations are more than happy to pay the price -- not only because they can -- but they can write it off as a business expense.
It is just the way of the world right now. Kind of sad, actually very sad. Some owners of teams feel different about their fans. I wish we had one of those owners.

Such a sad world we live in now.

Kraft has gone from a millionaire to a billionaire since the acquistion. Please go and cry me a river somewhere else.

Well said.

I understood that when Gillette opened my tickets would be a heck of a lot more expensive ($49 to $99) as the Commonwealth didn't kick in public funds for the financing of the Stadium.

I wasn't even that suprised in 2004 when the tickets went to $125.

What I'm mad about now is the $44 increase. Why does Kraft need that extra revenue? Because he is building a frickin Mall.

Anyone who claims that the Patriot Place project had no affect on the ticket price increases are fooling themselves.

As I've stated before in this thread I will not be shopping at Patriot Place as I'm one of the thousands of season tickets holders who live north of Boston. Tax free New Hampshire is a heck of a lot closer to me than Foxboro.

Yup, the fiasco that is Patriot Place is the tiping point. Crappier parking. Even worse delays geting in and out. And a huge % ticket increase on a league high price. Doesn't meet the value test, unless you're a corporate puke.

That's it in a nutshell.

I'm happy for those season ticket holders who renewed this year. I would be interested to hear in September how the parking & gameday experience is compared to the last few years.

My father takes the train because he's too cheap to park. The train is actually a good deal and very convenient if you don't mind not tailgating.

I've heard that.

The only drawback to the train are night games. The T shuts down around 12:30am. If you get back to South Station at 2 in the morning you have to take a cab to get home or have someone pick you up.

That can cost more than forking over the $40 to park at Gillette.

I didn't know that. We always take it from the south, so we can park for free at Attelboro or Providence and then drive home.

One thing I hate though is that the train goes so freaking slow. It's maddening.

Looks like it's better to live south of the Stadium. From South Station the train stops at Back Bay, Dedham and the 128 station if I'm not mistaken.

My brother lives in the City and has taken it a couple of times to preseason games. He agrees that it is very slow.
