What's the group's opinion on whether Junior will be back this season? And what's the timetable?

Personally I hope he comes back. I still think he can play as a part-time guy. But of course if he chose to come back before the draft, that wouldn't at all alter the fact that a young ILB prospect (or two) is needed.

I believe that he will come back for one more try. He is in amazing shape, and they would love to have him back. It's makes all the sense in the world. I just hope Junior wants to play one more year.

he should come back, and will have a similar role as with bruschi....we just cant have them BOTH in the game, at the same TIME....otherwise we are allright

anyways, can you imagine a rookie being groomed by bruschi and seau?

My opinion is no one knows. Not Seau and not the Patriots.

I imangine both would be happy to reunite.

But the guy will be 39 and he is having surgery. Will he have the desire to bounce back from the injury and will he physically be able to do it fast enough.

I don't doubt he wants to play for this team on sundays but does he want to go thru all the work and rehab.

I don't doubt the Pats would want a healthy seau back...but will he be helathy enough soon enough to be able to out weigh other optioms (which at this time seem limited).

I was unaware he was having surgery. What part of his body is being operated on?

Shoulder....Story broke a few weeks ago that he had a seperated shoulder almost all season (week 4 I think). He had the surgery and rumors were he may not be healthy until late june early july.

Thanks. If he plays I hope he doesn't stay home in San Diego, which I believe was mentioned as a possibility, if a remote one, after the season ended.

IMO if he plays it will be here.

I think he really loves it here plus I don't think San Diego has any real intrest...they didn't last year.

If I remember correctly he has already had the surgery. So now it's a wait and see kinda thing. I don't have a link, but perhaps someone else remembers reading (or hearing this) as well. Might have been on PFW.

i beleive he had it as well typo my bad

if he fully recovers from surgery. i believe he will be back, hes in good shape and after all he still needs his ring.

I'm banking on him being back but it depends on a lot of things. I'm assuming at this point AD is moving outside primarily since it'd be a lot to ask a rookie like Gholston or Groves to come in and move to OLB and start every down. I prefer AD inside, I know I'm in the minority, and we don't know what BB's preference is.

Assuming AD is outside, unless they plan on using #7 on Rivers, they will need one more ILB, even if they sign one of Seward/Spikes. I'd imagine Seau could be that guy.

I'd love for him to come back so we can rotation him in and out, and hopefully tutor some of the younger players so we have a decent young group by the time he rides off into the sun.

I hope not. I love Junior, but he is 39 years old and (as some have said) he's having off season surgery. I want our defense to get younger and faster. Tedy is good and Rodney still has a few more years left in him but Junior is at the end of the line. The only thing he did good last year was stuffing the run. QBs were allowed to pass over the middle all day. At this point, I'd rather have a young stud LB like Gholston in the draft than Junior at this point in his career.

See I dont care how young and fast it is.....I want it to get better. And step one to making it better is not losing pieces that were key last year.

I'm sorry, but the only time I saw Seau as "key" was when he stuffed Michael Turner in that big third down play in the AFC Championship.

Get the NFL ticket so you can then see all the games and then you will see more big plays from Jr.

I have NFL Sunday Ticket and saw all the Pats games. Name me five big plays that stand out from the season from Junior Seau. I'd rather have a hungry, quick, and hard hitting rookie than a broken down, slow, 40 year old (but still hard hitting) Junior Seau. Oh, by the way, did I mention that he's going to be 40?

Let see aside from the play you mention which was a key playoff goal line stop. Maybe the biggest defensive play all year. He had 3 pics and 3.5 sacks, thats 6 1/2 plays right there.

Just because you want to spew some crap about getting younger and faster doesn't mean you have to dog JR. JR was a key contibutor last year and will be agian this if he so choses.

Yea, I'd rather not.

And just an FYI, he won't be 40 until he plays in SuperBowl 43 "The Revenge of Belichick".

Broke down and slow? Yikes, I know one Head Coach that might argue with you there. And I trust him more than you, so if he says he has a spot for him on the team, I unequivocally give both of them all my support.
