This guy is my new favorite writer:

The crying and whining of people like Mike Martz has been hard to take. Just be quiet. You got beat.

Damn babies.

...

So when you haters and excuse makers want to continue to bash the Patriots and try to take away the significance of their titles, think of Edwards, clowning to the camera and handling the situation like a grown man and smart coach instead of a big fat baby.

That's awesome.

I can't believe it's taken this long for this article to be written. I'm a fan of this guy now.

Well the obvious slips out, ESPN will cover this I am sure with some blown out of proportion story shortly.

And you know who he's talking about in that last bit.

Cool it!...nobody wants to know the Truth. Not good copy you know.

good good good article

It is a good article. He still misses a critical point, however. The NFL rules are not about WHAT is being taped, they are about WHERE the cameras are. So the fact that the Pats may have been taping in 2004 is not evidence that they were "cheating." It is just evidence that they were taping.

Thanks for the post! Nice article indeed.

Good stuff. Who would ever have guessed that Herm is smarter than Mangina ? If you know they're doing it, change your signals. Wow.

:bricks:

we could use a few more pieces like this.

however, the problem is that the majority of the mediot talking heads are going to continue to milk every last drop of life out of spygate until they have some other sure-fire headline maker to talk about. right now, this is still the best story in the nfl if it's a bad media day and you have to produce a thousand words on deadline. take a few old, usually discredited, accusations, dress them up, add a little hyperbole and innuendo and you have a story that people will listen to or click on and that will explode into the blogosphere, enhancing the byline of the author.

if you think about it, the only piece of accurate, substantive news to come out since the fines were imposed was Goodell's statement that the pats had been taping for several years. otherwise, everything there was to know was known in September. The rest was Specter's bluster and Walsh's grasp at 15 minutes of fame. that's a pretty sad commentary on the media and the nfl's fans, players and management.
