I have not slept "good" one night since the game

what are you worried about? All we got to do is win 2 more superbowls before Brady-Belichick-Moss retire, and then we will be the best dynasty ever surpassing the 49ers. Figure Brady and BB have a good 8 years left, i like our chances.
That would make it five SBs for the Patriots, equalling the 49ers. Are you saying the Pats' dynasty would be better because it would be all with Belichick/Brady, where the 49ers were split between Walsh/Montana and Seifert/Young? Or maybe five in the salary cap era is more impressive? Just wondering. I'm not sleeping well tonight but it's because I ****-ed up my knee. Up to get some Advil.

i am with you...after the loss i didn't post so much and i'm still 'sick'...

it was a terrible and huge loss (no doubt)

it would have been fantastic to get the ring...

and, yes, i have also saw some soccer games (incredible...)

i saw allready Liverpool-Inter and Arsenal-Milan and i didn't watch soccer since many many years...

good that we are in the off season...

I'm not saying i'm sleeping bad. (edit: actually i guess that's exactly what im saying)

But you know when it gets early and you wake up to piss or what not and you get back in bed and are tired and would love to pass out but your mind starts racing and you can't?

well that's what's happening.

I don't think i've slept more than 7 hours tops since the Pats lost.

I probably shouldn't have typed that last line. I'll probably get crap from the old businessmen who "are lucky to get 5 hours of sleep without having to set up a sales proposal before making million dollar deals for breakfast".

Ok i'm getting out of control here. i'll stop now.

My suggestion is to start drinking heavily:)

To quote the immortal Eric Stratton - Animal House Fame.

I had a rough week afterwards, then I received an offer from my company for a new position, closer to home and in a different business unit (which has been my goal for the last few years). This was my personal Super Bowl, and though my team didn't win the Lombardi, I managed to win one for myself, metaphorically speaking. So my advice for any suffering Pats fans, is to win one for yourself- get straight A's, get a raise, get a promotion, run a race, just set a challenging goal and try to achieve it.

.

You need more sex before bed.
Work off that extra energy that you have.:D

The night of the game, I went out to walk the dog, a very long walk. It was snowing like crazy, which was actually somewhat comforting. People were getting into their snow covered cars from parties, didn't know whether to acknowledge them or not, one was even my priest. Got home and shoveled the driveway, over and over and over. I got inside and started to read a book, must be 2:am by now. Hardly slept that night, not too much the next few. Just recently I started watching PTI, but whenever a Superbowl reference comes on I feverishly find an alternate channel. The addition of Capers was extremely helpful, but its a long road back.

As a Yankee fan, it took me years to partially recover from the 2004 ALCS collapse. Not advancing in the playoffs is one thing, but losing to the hated Red Sox of all teams in an epic collapse was unbearable. I never looked at the Yankees in the same way after that choke job. They weren't superhuman with gods looking over them. I never viewed Yankee stadium in the same way either. It happened, and even a dozen World Series wins could never take that choke job back.

It's going to be tough, but winning will help. The Pats went 16-0 and that is certainly an accomplishment that won't happen in my lifetime again. And the Pats and Giants played an epic Super Bowl that won't be forgotten for a long time. But it's hard not to realize this Pats team was just 2 minutes away from immortality. As a football fan, I don't think I could've withstood hearing about this undefeated Pats team every year for the rest of my life, so I and every non-Patriot fan is thankful it didn't happen. :) I still don't think this Pats was the greatest team ever. I'd even say that there were 2 or 3 Pats teams in the past 7 years that were more dominant than this current team even if they didn't make it to the Super Bowl.

I can't get over this loss either :(

I've also lost countless hours of sleep over the loss, I would guess at least an hour every night, 2-3 on most nights. I just can't stop thinking about it, I lay down and I say "Okay, I'm not gonna think about the Pats tonight and I'll get a good night sleep for a change." Well, 2 hours, 100 what-if's, 50 could-haves and 75 should-haves later, there I am still thinking about it. It's like I can't get it out of my head, I think the only cure will be a Super Bowl victory, 11+ months from now :(

My girlriend tells me I take Boston sports too seriously and that I should see a counselor, maybe shes right

The SB was rough and I do confess to tearing up a little bit after the game. Since I'm in school in PA, I had previously deceided bf the SB that I would be staying home in Boston until Tuesday for the parade. Well, that didnt happen, so I went to the razor to welcome the team back from AZ on Monday night. It was by far the best thing I couldve done to help get the healing process started. I got to be around great Pats fans, most were hilariously funny, and we all had a great time. Even standing out in the freezing cold for 3+ hours was totally worth it. Its helpful to remember that youre not alone...I know its cliche, but your really not! Theres hundreds of thousands of Pats fans, who all felt the same thing. Also, its good to put sports in perspective...it is just entertainment, after all. Of course, I live and die with my sports teams so I feel hypocritical saying it, but its the truth. :D

Again I live and die with the Pats, and this could have been such a great offseason.. , but its not..
