Two other potential records:

1. Most consecutive weeks playing with an injury: Tom Brady's name first showed up on the daily injury report on Wednesday, September 24, 2003. The only times his name hasn't appeared on it was during 2003 and 2004 playoffs.

2. With a win over the Redskins Tom Brady defeated all 32 NFL teams at least once. I don't know if that is a record, but it is an accomplishment that occurred this year.

NFL Network and Cold, Hard Football Facts are saying that in the Pats/Jags game, Brady had the highest single-game completion percentage of all time with 26 out of 28 (minimum 20 is required). This includes pre-season and regular season games as well (any game where a QB threw more than 20 attempts).

They also said his 16 straight completions was a playoff record!

91.30 Vinny Testaverde, Cleveland vs. L.A. Rams, Dec. 26, 1993 (23-21)
90.91 Ken Anderson, Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh, Nov. 10, 1974 (22-20)
90.48 Lynn ****ey, Green Bay vs. New Orleans, Dec. 13, 1981 (21-19)

After the AFC championship game, ESPN ticker said Tom Brady was the fastest ever to 100 wins (126 games, 100-26).

Where's "Tom Brady - Fastest ever to 100 wins." :)

For the AFC Championship, you need to add (this comes from Cold Hard Football Facts):

It’s hard to ***** about Brady’s performance when you consider that the victory over San Diego was the 100th of his career, against just 26 losses, a .794 win percentage.

As the NFL Network noted Sunday, he’s the fastest quarterback to 100 victories in a landslide, getting there 20 games faster than Montana (who, lest we forget, played for a pretty fair country coach himself).

And as we noted before the game Sunday, New England’s 100 victories since Brady took command of the offense in 2001 is simply unbelievable when you consider that the franchise won just 98 games in the 14 seasons from 1987 to 2000.

For those who like having records sheets to look at during the game, put together list of current Super Bowl passing records to glance at while keeping track of Brady's stats during the game...

Yards: 1,142 (Joe Montana)

I will always remember the Patriots season of 07-08 as the season of breaking historical records but not joining the great 1972 Miami Dolphins team in perfect city, which for me records are useless because over time they get broken again so the only thing that lasts for ever is a championship win which the Patriots have 3 thats all that really matters at the end.

Can this come down it depresses me every time I see it.

FWIW, yeah, the ending sucked, but it was still a damn good ride up to that point. [Honestly, every time SB42 pops into my head, I just think back a few weeks, and that puts the smile back on my face.]

But I did want to point out something worth noting. Remember how everyone talked about the Patriots' offense "struggling" in the second half of the season? Because they only averaged 32 points a game instead of 42? Well, FWIW, even if that had been their average for the season, it would still have been one of the top 10 scoring season in NFL history.
