They shouldn't even accept the Lombardi Trophy

Ladies and gentlemen,

With the whole Specter *******ry, this thing comes full circle. It was never Goodell who wanted the story, though he did try to turn it into a "new sherrif in town" story.

Think about it: Goodell is now facing down Specter, on the league's behalf. He is the one trying to keep league business in league hands. We accepted league punishment. We are not, at the moment, some kind of rogue franchise.

Now, if seriously over a barrel, Goodell will throw us under the bus, no question. But it's unclear whether one senator, obviously trying to get through politics what his team can't do on a football field, will have the influence it appears he will have.

The whole bomb was timed to go off for the Super Bowl, very close to the weekend, with no evident coordination with other senators. It's like "Black Sunday," with Specter in the role of the terrorists. It was timed for maximum emotional impact.

I am sure Specter will try to sustain it, but I don't think there's that much there. What I think is that right now, until further notice, Goodell is our ally.

We win, we grab the trophy, we say it's been a special year, etc. etc. etc.

Don't lose our cool, don't have a meltdown. These stunts are bull****. That's what we need to convey.

PS, although it SOUNDS like it would be really cool... I mean, FU is exactly how I feel too.

My idea was more to not give the media what they covet when the game is over. You KNOW BB and TB will be asked about it in post game ect...if they refuse to do the interviews, it's more of an FU to the media.

I have no problem with Mr. Goodell, after hearing him on Mike and Mike this morning, I am cheering him on. He sounded very confident in his actions.

I keep reading that the commissioner has arranged for a Black QB to present the trophy. For the past several years the commissioner has had a retired player join him in the presentation of the trophy. The commissioner will still be there and will have to face Kraft and Bill.

Does the OP live in a video arcade world? This is so ridiculous that it's amazing to even see it posted.

Yep, it's our trophy. Goodell and Specter and Marshall Faulk and Mike Ditka and Mercury Morris and the rest can go to hell. You don't let these kind of idiots throw you off your game and take anything away from your accomplishments.

Accept the trophy and be classy. Then carry the coach off the field.

We already got 3. I say we saw this mother in half and send one half to McPuke to placate Arlen and the other to Warner - maybe it will help them resurrect their careers.

Oh, and I think we should go old school and the team should carry our HC off the field on their shoulders.

Thank God you're here to straighten me out. ****. I was just throwing an idea out there.

There are contractual obligations, so this would never happen. What would be nice is in the week following they just do their regular stuff on WEEI but do not patronize the likes of Inside the NFL or the other lame ass shows. They have no obligation to them, and I wouldn't give them the ratings boost after they behaved like shrieking girls for the past five months.

What really blows is that the game is on FOX. Their announcers suck, their sideline reporters suck, and that stupid robot animation sucks too. Phil Simms would give a more balanced presentation of the game and he bleeds Giants blue. Fox's bitterness at having the lesser TV deal (NFC) shines through every time.

How so? My sig is people going on about how players with less than one or two years in the league are "BUSTS". My OP was just one action they could take to show the media how they are tired of all this crap.

I dislike Joe Buck's sermonizing as much as the next guy. But even I have to admit there's a reason he does the World Series AND the Super Bowl. Aikman is tolerable.
