Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

damn I believed this until the part about donkeys and midgets

:) At first I made one that was very believable, but then I realized it wasn't the ethical thing to do. Unlike Walsh, I have a thread of a conscience. :)

The reporter's name is an anagram. Let's see who gets it.... :)

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

From tomorrow's Globe:

If you take the letters from the Globes staff writer and rescramble them you get

"Fake Reporter"

Its a BS story...completely made up.

You win the anagram game (which I mentioned above).

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

For ESPN the game is playing out perfectly. When this Walsh guy is dragged through the mud they will say they were using the story from Tomase and spin their way from any culpability. But at the same time linger long enough to watch the impending train wreck of Walsh's life implode while one of the resident carnival barkers(probably Easterbrook) will somehow fit in 'see what type of people the Patriots employ'.

But the main objective of the whole excercise has already been accomplished. They get the huge ratings bump(of a Super Bowl covered by FOX) by giving the haters the red meat they so crave about BB being the worst person ever to inhabit the planet. For ESPN, mission accomplished.

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

To think that the root of all of this was Eric the Rat. Eric the Rat, right now would be working at some accounting firm pulling in around $82.5K annually, instead of reeling in millions as an NFL head coach, IF IT WERE NOT FOR BILL BELICHICK.

Who's the bigger piece of dirt here ? I go to the root of the dirt, Eric the Rat

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

I think when this is finished all of ESPN will receive the Tom Jackson treatment from Belichick and the Pats.

what ESPN is.....

ESPN...Especially Stupid Pompus Nonsense

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag....

Those reasons should come out. I want to know why he was fired. He's out there talking about how he has proof that the Pats taped a practice. Well I want to know why the Pats fired him and the exact date that his sorry arse was fired. I've heard two different dates, and I want to know which one is correct.

His claim to have been a member of the Springfield College golf team--a claim that was on his resume--has been proven to be false. What more does the press need to see that this guy has no credibility? That one lie would certainly be enough for Judge Judy.

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag....

What the hell is wrong with this Walsh guy? He's punishing 53 guys who go out and play the most violent sport on earth, for what? .

$$$$$$$$$$

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

This is all so much BS. They just ruined my Superbowl.. I'll watch the game, but any of the run to the game will just piss me off.

This is nothing more than what has become sport "journalizm". In other words create the RUMOR, then report it as FACT, then keep on repeating the process until it is actually PERCEIVED as fact. That's what they have done here, and they have done it successfully.

No matter what happens from the is point the Pats are PERMENENTLY tarnished. Even if this Matt Walsh story is TOTALLY debunked it STILL will leave the haters to CONTINUE to question the Pats.

BTW - This this is all BB's fault. He is the one who created "spygate" to prove a point, and the end result will be a long term perception that the Pats are cheaters. Now that being said, I wouldn't want another coach coaching the Pats, but the truth be known, this whole season long fiasco was TOTALLY preventable. It was Bill's mistake, but everyone will have to live with it including us.

Re: Matt Walsh:This Guy Is a Scumbag....

ESPN better be careful. If they invest money into this clown, they better hope that he has something to offer or they will look like bigger fools. Like they don't look like fools already.

That would be classic if they backed him because that would be more than mud on their face.

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

Goodell is now on Mike and Mike. They brought up Matt Walsh and he said they don't know much about him and he's been gone from the team "five or maybe six years". Sounds like the idea that Walsh left before SB XXXVI is getting out there.

Goodell knows why Walsh was fired. I'll bet money that Bob Kraft told him EXACTLY why that guy was fired.

Can't disagree more. I expect the Pats to be vindicated. Rarely do they release a statement, and the one last night was as clearcut as any we have ever read. I have no reason to disbelieve them. Blame should be on Mangini and the Jets, not BB, for making a private matter public out of spite. If yahoos from other states want to wallow in bitterness over unfounded allegations, who cares? It won't ruin my enjoyment of this team at all. The media is like a starving beast with an empty stomach right now. The NFL will throw them some meat, the media will digest it, calm down, and the tone and perspective on this issue will change rapidly.

Is that possible?! :D

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

the silver lining in this:

now that these unsubstantiated Rams allegations are out there, the media is finally saying what happened against the jets is no big deal. They are trying to drive home their point of how much bigger this new stuff is. Hell, even EASTERBROOK called spygate "minor". He can never take those words back. When this Walsh guy is outed as a fraud, and this Rams thing is investigated and dismissed, they will try to fall back on spygate for hating fuel. But they can't take their words back, they called it minor now! They put all their hating eggs in one big hating basket based on a source who is a coward and a liar and now they are all in! Time to take this hand and the entire pot! GO PATS!

Re: Matt Walsh: This Guy Is a Scumbag...

The guy may have mental issues... That's the only thing I can think of in terms of why he would raise this now, on the eve of the SB.

All you will have to do, Ken, is say "19-0." Can you "live" with that? ;)
