Is the media killing your Pre-SB buzz?

Yeah, you're right, this effing blows. Spector is a complete moron! Tomase is the laughing stock. Steve Young and others are piling on. It's sad that I'm spending the last two days before the game, changing the channel, instead of watching. What a shame. I hope the Patriots blow them out more than ever!

Yeah, and after all the other games, I would want to watch sports coverage and listen to sports radio for at least 48 hours afterward. Not so tomorrow. I'll come here and celebrate, but I'm not going to watch any ESPN or the like.

It does not bother me in the slightest. It's just annoying seeing these stupid ***** smacks at this time, it looks so obvious to me. I can't stand seeing all the fans somehow lose faith in the organization because of it either. Besides, the Pats didn't come this far to make us enjoy "media" week. They're in Arizona to finish some business, lets be happy and see the big picture.

I'm speaking for myself here, obviously, but I will never lose faith in the organization. Like I said, it's all gamesmanship, true or not. None of us is "in the know" with this stuff, although the microscope is huge. The media idiocy on this subject is proof of that.

No, I've lost any faith I ever might have had in the media. And all the fun of sports talk radio is gone. But my enjoyment of the team and it's accomplishments is exactly the same.

I agree. This season has been exhausting, mentally - emotionally. Unlike other years every week became a Huge deal. The intial spygate thing sucked but was at least nullified by the Pat's incredible subsequent drubbings.. and the season as a whole. This new spy-nonsense whole thing sucks. I cant stand idiot Mortensen or the others. Now I feel like a blowout win tomorrow is the only way things get balanced out. Go and freaking asterisk the first 3 because this season, if all goes well, stands above ALL others. This team will stand above all others. There will be nothing more to accomplish. All future SB winners will be judged against this team. Game, set, freaking match.

I am so piss-d off at TOMASE, Walsh and Spector.

As far as I am concerned...if this allegation is not true, the Herald sjhould fire Tomase's fat a**

Totally irresponsible...and he did it just to promote himself, just like Specter and Walsh.

All 3 of them f ing over the Patriots for their ownn gain.

I just hope the Pats do not get distracted by all this Bull.

Tomase has earned himself a ticket out of town. What he did is not journalism

it's killed mine. I don't dare watch ESPN or the NFL network, so I can't enjoy any of this. I should be enjoying this and the media is killing it.

The media is indeed killing my pre-game buzz.
I can't believe that people are throwing all this b.s. at us NOW.
I mean, when does it end?
WTF?
Taping walk-throughs?
Arlen Spector?
Call me naive, but I can't believe that we are being subjected to this ****.
It's f****d up.

I wish I could but I feel exactly the same way you do. You can't avoid it. If I even log in to check my damn email, msn has a "New Spying allegations?" headline, which makes it sound like it is recent, and not something that may or may not have happened six years ago.

Like you, I am sick and tired of it. I can't wait for the season to be over. I'll always be a Pats fan, but I am going to reevaluate just how much energy I pour into this stuff. Sorry, NFL. Eventually, you'll be the real losers here.

Perfectly put!! I usually love watching and reading like a sponge during Superbowl week. Even the idiots are entertainment. This SB has been very deflating.

To be honest, I can't help but be soured a little with Saint BB for putting the players and the fans in this mess in the first place. I'm sure he didn't anticipate that his rule violation would cause such turmoil. In the beginning, we all said that the "EFF You" season would shut them up. It made no difference. It will never go away.

Not really, it just makes me want to see the Pats win even more so that the media will be even more ticked off.

Yes, especially today with this totally irresponsable dare I call it journalism. Yesterday was ok with the commish. making the comments he did even with the grandstanding of specter. But this crap is over the top.

No I never have a Pre Buzz anyway. I hate Super Bowl weekend until the game, which is all that matters anyway. All this spy crap an any other story this week will be forgot by the media, win or lose by mid week when the media goes on to the next story.

Totally agree - what pisses me off most is how this all affects the players. Because of that punk Walsh, the 01 players who went out and beat the Rams are now not going to get the credit they deserve.

What the hell is wrong with this Walsh guy? He's punishing 53 guys who go out and play the most violent sport on earth, for what? 15 minutes of fame? Does he think his taping a stupid walkthrough affected the outcome of the game?

That's what I can't get over and it is curbing my excitement somewhat. It's slowly getting back as I watched some NE Tailgate and have avoided the sensationalist ESPN & other national media.

no. actually, i found it a good distraction since i was probably getting too worked up over the game.

ironically, i also think it might be a good distraction for the team if they were getting too tight about all the "history" on the line on Sunday. nothing like a good "mad" to loosen the guys up.

Have you all forgotten game 2 of this season? What happened after the media attacked the credibility of the Pat's previous SB wins and the integrity of Belicheck? They went out and pounded the Chargers......I expect the Pats to use this tomorrow...big time. Who needs a 23-17 prediction when all of the media is now questioning everything you have done for the past 7 years?

All I can say is....Thank you Media....and....Look out Giants....

i think you're overreacting. it was almost inevitable that someone would do something to bring spygate into the headlines right before the superbowl. this guy walsh seems to have had some problems when he was with the pats and all he will be able to do is make claims that he can't prove. both the nfl and the patriots have said that there is nothing to these rumors. if he actually did hide and tape the walkthrough and if he has a copy of the tape, well that's another matter and kind of like Lewinsky's dress. school's out. but i refuse to believe it occured.

remember how it felt during the week or two after the Jets game in September. it felt like it would never go away, but ultimately it quieted down. i'm pretty sure that's what will happen to this story as well. 19--0 will put the story to rest. relax.

Killed my buzz. Was thinking that driving home this afternoon. Media tearing down all that is "beautiful". Just like the agents from Bizzaro World.

It was, but now I think I am even more excited. I'm angry and I want to see the Pats take it out on the Giants. If there was any doubt before this has got to be the most hyped Super Bowl in recent memory. When was the last time an undefeated team, shrouded in controversy was playing for the perfect season. Crazy. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight.

It is killing my buzz in a major way.

It almost feels as though no matter what the team accomplishes, it doesn't matter, because people seem so anxious to tear it down.

The patriots got nailed for spygate, but then went 18-0. Everyone knows they are the least likely team to have broken any rules after week 1, so now they go after old stuff.

I think it's going to be very hard hearing another whole day of this.

This is what america is these days -- Bill Clinton called it the politics of personal destruction. Whatever you think of Clinton, the term is apt, and it's spread well beyond politics. We are a culture of cannibals, ravenous to tear down whatever we can, rather than build anyone up.
