I know I'm staing the obvious, but you've really got to stop and think about what this game means to the players.

Sure others have talked about the "weight" of the game, but we know this team and how they respond to pressure.

These guys have got to be PRIMED like never before and motivated beyond anyone ever has been in the history of the NFL.

We've got guys on the team who are before, at and past their prime who have never gotten one ring, let alone going for the 4th...

They have the opportunity to claim sole ownership of the ONLY PERFECT SEASON in the modern era of the NFL (Sorry Dolphins... 14 game season, limited free agency and no salary cap.. you might as well have been playing in NFL Europe compared to the modern era).

These guys - and their coach - would like nothing more than to assume ownership of the first and most coveted place in the NFL History books (again - sorry Dolpins... puts you in the 1b category.)

Oh yeah, and quite a few in the NFL had the gall to question the integrity and honor of this team early in the season, helping this team to pull together to let their work on the field respond to those who would question whether they needed "help" to accomplish what they did.

And best of all, that's being brought up again, as if they needed the reminder and the additional motivation.

Now that's all a huge opportunity - and a lot of pressure.

But ask yourself - generally, how does this team tend to respond to pressure?

Anyways, sorry for taking a whole thread for this rant - and I know I'm stating the obvious - but this is the MOST INCREDIBLY HUGE GAME THAT ANY OF THEM OR ANY OF US HAVE EVER BEEN WITNESS TO and I kindof felt compelled to express that.

Carry on.

Yeah, I think it's safe to say that this is the biggest game of any of their lives. And, when it's all said and done, I think they're winning this one for Junior. Book it.

they got a nice speech from Jim Brown today

I'd say they're ready for battle.

The Patriots are all business. They know what they need to do

I was watching a recap of the Pats victory over the Eagles in the 04 SB. There are a lot of guys playing on this year's team that played back then as well. The Pats are a well-seasoned veteran football team who can rise above the Super Bowl glitz and stay focused on playing top notch football for 60 minutes.

Four offensive linemen, Watson, K.Brady, Kaczur, and Neal didn't play the 12/29 game. They will make a big difference protecting Brady. If that now healthy line can give Brady one more second in the pocket, he will pick apart their secondary.

This is their biggest game, but to this incredibly disciplined football team, it is just one more 60 minute game where everyone needs to do his job to the best of his ability.

i would say so.

in fact id say as sports fans, this is probably the biggest game WE will be watching in our lifetime. 19-0 is something thats never happened, never thought of as happening in this era, and may never happen again.

It worries me just a little that they are TALKING about it being the biggest game of their lives, even if we know it's true.

I'm so used to the "It's just a game, another day where we have to be at our best" that the hype from the players seems odd and I hope it's not distracting.

I don't recall this type of talk from them ever around the Superbowls. Because it would frankly be totally silly and I'd have difficulty believing any of them would actually buy it.

It is the biggest game ever - yes. If the Pats lose, they would have to forever answer the question, you went 18-0 and then lost the SB - what happened?

I don't think anyone has been able to get to the Patriot players to do many inteviews with them. On NFL Today for the past two shows, they have interviewed Giants players, but not one Patriot. Out here in CA a local station was supposed to be having an interview with Richard Seymour, but I missed it.

There has been zip info coming from that camp except for what we read from Reiss in the Globe. Belichick has those guys sequestered, and I suspect if any of them is even seen watching a sports show, reading a newspaper, listening to a radio, or talking with anyone other than a member of the team or their own family, they will be traded on Monday.

It is the biggest game for the Pats as a franchise, but I think the first Super Bowl against the Rams was more important for the players who are still around from that game.

I have a tough time believing that the Perfect Season would rank 2nd to even a 1st Super Bowl ring.

How many teams have rings? How many teams have gone 19-0?

No doubt their first is a special game - but better or bigger than this? Really?

Probably the biggest game in patriots history. The players can pretend all they want, but they know it. The advantage is that the next game has been the biggest game for them since the colts game. They have played teams that treated the game against the patriots like a super bowl since november. If they aren't ready now, they won't ever be.

I think they've played/talked it right. Obviously it's the biggest game of their lives. It's the biggest game in the NFL ever given that no team has been undefeated at this point since 1972 and the NFL is much bigger now (not that it wasn't big then but popularity has soared since). It's best that they acknowledge the game's magnitude, it would be silly not to.

this is the biggest game for a HUMAN BEING!

Biggest game of their lives? Why ask US?

Brady said it was.
And Bru said "everyone feels that way."

Biggest game ever! There is really nothing to compare this to.

No question , this is the biggest game in Pats history,

I know its stupid to say that if we have 2 losses already, its just another Super Bowl.. But not this yr..

This is the biggest game in Pats histroy....

Ask any player that's never won a Super Bowl if they cared whether going undefeated was better than the fact that they won. You think Strahan cares if he's 13-6 right now?

It will be a record that I'm sure will never be beat in my lifetime when they win but the final win is what makes it one for the ages, not the first 18. Seriously, people are still debating whether the Bears were a better team than this one.

This team is a byproduct and a spirit of that team in New Orleans. This never happens without them.

Well it hurts to hear some of our Defense players might not be coming back next year. so that adds the extra fuel to play it all out tomorrow with nothing to worry even if they break a few bones doing it. But I'm sure Seau is gonna be running up and down the field tomorrow. I'm lookin to see Manning get intercepted 3 times, this game is for us!!!!! Plus, Giants shouldn't even be here.
