Patriots practice report
Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff February 1, 2008 04:32 PM
The following is the Patriots' pool report from practice, from Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune:

The Patriots concluded their preparations for Super Bowl XLII with a crisp workout in shorts and shells at Sun Devil Stadium that lasted an hour and 20 minutes Friday.

"We're ready to roll," coach Bill Belichick said. "We're ready as we're going to be."

Belichick said the team will not have a walkthrough at University of Phoenix Stadium Saturday. The Patriots will go to the stadium to take a team photo.

Wide receiver Jabar Gaffney's shoulder injury has improved, and Gaffney was able to fully participate in practice. Quarterback Tom Brady's ankle continued to be a non-issue. So the Patriots look to be completely healthy.

Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown spoke to the team before practice at Belichick's request.

Roger that. All systems go.

Let's go already. I'm sick of the hype, play the game!

Pats haters on Sunday, coming into Patsfans.com:

We're ready to troll.

Regards,
Chris

Man...I felt good about this game before. Now I don't have a shadow of a doubt that a can of whoop-ass will be opened. Prediction? PAIN!

Today on NFLN they were asking random celebrities, players, analysts, etc. who they were picking.

Jim Brown simply said: "Patriots. Best coach in the history of the game"

I knew he had a good relationship with BB from Bill's work with Brown's foundation but WOW. If you can't get psyched up from a pep talk given by arguably the best individual player of an entire era (if not of all time), you are brain dead.

F^cking Aye, if Bill say's we are ready.............. I guess I gotta believe him ;)

I've been listening to the talk shows here in tampa and some people are concerned about Brady's shoulder.

Really. No ****!:D

I heard Jim Brown, and Ronnie Lott interviewed today. Ronnie was blown away about Belichick spending an hour and a half at a session Jim held last night of his Amer-I-Can foundation. Brown, in a separate interview, said Bill was there with "his lady". They are friends from Bill's days in Cleveland. One hand washes the other (Brown speaking to the Pats today). That's great. Brown was the most stupefyingly astounding football player I ever saw. The best one I ever heard was from the Eagles coach at the time: "you've heard that superman is white and he wears a cape? That's wrong, he's black and he wears a Cleveland Browns uniform, #32".

It's time to kick some ars. Giants is running out of time.

Pats 19-0.:rocker: :rocker:

I heard Brown today on WEEI and he was barely understandable due to a bad cold. I just hope he didn't shake any players hands or if he did I hope they had hand santizer with them.

I think the main reason we are so dominant this season as opposed to 2003/2004 is that we are healthy. If we were healthy those seasons, we are already the best team of all time in most peoples mind.

Of course, Randy Moss didn't hurt either.

I remain convinced to this day, that we beat Pittsburgh in their house if Corey Dillon had played that game.

I love that BB has such a strong friendship with Brown, and I only wish more people knew about the things BB's done off the field. But, he's not an attention whore, so most people will probably just keep on thinking he's a d*ck.

Wait...so you're saying he doesn't eat little babies and crap on homeless people? Damn, I need to stop getting my information from the media.

Seriously, it's nice as INFORMED fans that we can take solace in the fact that we have a very humble, down-to-earth coach who doesn't do things for the glory but rather because he's simply a good, upstanding individual. The media can protray him as the devil in a hoodie, but we all know the truth.

The Patriots are going to crush the Giants into little blobs of undifferentiated goo.

I'm sorry, Giants fans, there is no Santa, there is no Easter Bunny, and this game is going to end with lots of talk of "greatest ever."
