The engineer of one of the greatest teams in the mid 80s with his Giants and BB at his side then making the Patriots who were a laughing stock into a Super Bowl team in less than 3 years with him at the helm.

Who do you think Bill is going to want to win this game?

To my understanding, it's Tom Coughlin who's been his close confidant for many years.

I'd have to assume Belichick. Why? Because when it's all said and done, Parcells will be remembered first and foremost ofr the fact that he brought BB through the ranks, and Parcells is enough of an egomaniac that this would sway him.

I honestly doubt he really gives a sh!t

He and Bill not only buried the hatchet, they finally are friends. I would imagine he would find it more it more personally satisfying that the Cowboys ultimately fell to a team who lost the Superbowl. I also doubt Bill wants to see some other HC, even a guy he likes, win with the Giants since he was the last HC to.

Besides, the Giants wouldn't give him a job two months ago when he was trolling for one.

Probably the Giants, so he doesn't have the defending champs in his division.

Unless he's going to give useful advice to one team or the other, it doesn't much matter.

I suspect he's rooting for no one.

Who cares ?

I think he would alienate himself with his Dolphans if he were to openly root for the Pats and endear himself with those fans if he were to openly root against the Pats while mentioning preserving the '72 Dolphins legacy.

You decide, who know's maybe he doesn't even care.

This one is easy.
the Fat Fu** is definitely rooting for the Giants. A win by Coughlin allows Parcells' tree to branch out. A win by BB will enhance the sentiments that BB was the genus behind the 80's GMen. I have to believe that Parcells still has a bad taste for Kraft. "He let BB buy the groceries but not me!"

Well, he is an employee of the Dolphins now, and I'm sure we know who fans and players of that team are rooting AGAINST.

I personally don't care who he roots for. He coached both teams, has ties to both, memories of both probably good and bad. I bet he'll probably just watch the game.

Traditionally, you root for the team in your own conference - although there are lots of exceptions. Look at Don Shula. ;)

My guess would be the Patriots.

If they win and go 19-0 I can see the potential for a number of players to walk away at the highest point of any football career ever... all the players have put so much into this season's effort I have to think the prospect of another off-season workout routine, two-a-days, pre-season games and another long regular season and playoffs might cause even some guys with another year or two on their contract to move on.

As such, if I'm Parcells, I see a Patriots win as having the potential to weaken them in 2008. A loss and they probably work even harder to get stronger.

I doubt he's looking that deep into it.

Parcells may have an ego, but I don't think he rationally believes the Dolphins are going to challenge the Patriots in 2008. He's going to be looking 2-3 years down the line, when a lot of those players will have retired anyways.

Big Tuna roots for Big Tuna. No one else.

That traitor never wanted the Pats to win a super bowl.
