Re: Advice for buying SB XLII tickets

could those of you offer up some advice on buying super bowl tickets? I am curious to hear where people buy (ebay etc), when (well in advance, days in advance etc), and how much value one would place on the experience?

Every time the pats have made to the SB, i've considered going, but have never pulled the trigger....

thanks for the input guys!

Buy low

Sell high

Re: Super Bowl parking situation?

Tailgating at the Super Bowl is an overrated concept. It takes a long time to get into the stadium because of the heightened security (you're standing in line for an hour or two), plus there is plenty to see and do once you're inside the secured stadium compound. I love tailgating, but at the Super Bowl is makes more sense to be in the stadium hours before kickoff than in the parking lot grilling.

Good point ... maybe I'll go that route. Thanks!

Re: Super Bowl parking situation?

Yes it is true. They do that for security reasons. I've seen people bring a 30-pack and just drink at their car at SB38 in Houston. I don't think anyone would say anything to you if you did that. But don't expect to be grilling or anything like that.

At SB39, people parked in lots a good distance away from the stadium. I did see plenty of people tailgating in those lots. But those also were not stadium lots. I don't know if there are non-stadium lots anywhere near the stadium. But, if there is, you can bet that they will be looking to make money on the Super Bowl crowd and probably would allow tailgating. But as far as the White, Blue, Green, Red, Turquoise, etc. lots... Don't expect to tailgate.

Did some more research ... apparently there is some guy who is hellbent on getting an explanation on the No Tailgating policy & had a phone call with an NFL spokesperson:

In a nutshell, Brian McCarthy explained to me that there is no ban on tailgating at the Super Bowl. He did confirm that there is a ban on open flames and grilling in the parking lot before the Super Bowl. He also confirmed that putting up tents and taking up more than one parking space is also forbidden. That includes no RV parking at the Super Bowl as well. He said fans can still travel to the game and tailgate as long as there is no grilling or open flames. He suggested fans attempting to tailgate at the Super Bowl to pack sandwiches or other food items that do not require cooking while in the parking lot.

So it def. seems like it's more of an open flames issue and not so much a beer & food thing. Good to know.

Re: Advice for buying SB XLII tickets

Just talked to a broker who I've dealt with before. To get in the door is $2600 which is down from $3000 last friday. He says their is still a lot of inventory with the trend still heading in the right direction.

In my very unscientific observation, the low end of tickets has been $2,450 since Thursday and hasn't moved much through Sunday. However today there are some in the $2,300's for the first time, which I believe is a great sign.

$2600 seems to be the bottom right now. I was hoping to get something for $2000 or less.

Ebay is just all over the map today. Just a few minutes ago, I saw a pair of upper level goal lines go for more then $6,300. http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Super-Bowl-XL...ryZ16122QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Literally 7 minutes later a pair in the same section, lower row, went for $5500. (Wish I had the link.)

Every once in a while an auction will go for $4700 or something, but auctions where the seller has good feedback, tickets in hand, and is ready to ship, seem to be at a premium of about $500.

It's a weird market right now.

$4,000 for a pair doesn't seem out of the question by Wednesday or Thursday.

EDIT: Also, it's worth adding that stubhub adds a 10 percent premium, so tickets listed at $2500 are really $2750. And when you try to click through on those ninjaticket things, you don't see the tickets listed that they stay are there.

Bob Kraft, Andre Tippett And John Hannah At The Vine Tomorrow 5pm

Is that for certain? Reliable enough to share with Pats fans coming out?

Any reason it wasn't included in the "press release" you posted shortly thereafter? I would think this would be the most important detail to point out in the press release.

Re: Advice for buying SB XLII tickets

The fact is that the market on Ebay, Stub Hub and the other on line sites is NOT efficient. Prices vary a lot in sections.

Prices have gone down a bit since last week and may continue to drop. But who knows.

I saw a few in the ring of honor (essentially the first few rows) upstairs in the corner on Stub Hub in the $2900 apiece range (after all the hidden fees are dumped in) and that's a pretty good deal at the moment.

My gut tells me that tix will go down this week and up against when the game nears, but that's just a gut opinion.

Re: Advice for buying SB XLII tickets

Im hoping to score one for $2000 or less. Seems like the only people who have them selling at that price are folks with ZERO sales history on ebay.

One guy named "Diablo"... his only Ebay history was the purchase of a Satanic bible. lol

Re: Advice for buying SB XLII tickets

Just spoke to another Broker friend. He said there is 3000 seats that are for sale right now (through brokers) which he said is lot. Apparently there is a wholesale ticket site for brokers. However I have talked to a ton of guys who are flying out without tickets in hopes of landing one out there. At some point the supply will start to dwindle and the price will reverse. I will post as I hear prices move . Please do the same if you hear any change. Wednesday / Thursday seem like the best bet. Other than that you risk a short squeeze in the market.

Re: Announcements & advice for those heading to AZ (Merged X 2)

It is 100% confirmed that they will be at the Vine on Tuesday at, or around, 5PM. I just got the commitment this morning and l didn't have it when I wrote the the press release last night.

IT IS CONFIRMED

Re: Announcements & advice for those heading to AZ (Mergedx2)

For Super Bowl Sunday, does anyone have suggestions for a "Plan B" in case the Vine gets filled up before you get there?

I know that the Vine is setting up an outdoor fenced area to accomodate a lot more people but the forecast for Sunday calls for rain so that could make it uncomfortable to be outside all day.

Also the fact that the Vine is opening at 9 or 10am raises the question: How early do you have to get there? The game doesn't kick off until 4:18 and will run about 4 hours which takes you to 8:30 plus celebration time afterward
(hopefully!) makes it a long day to be in one place if you have to arrive at 9am/10am to get in. If you could arrive at noon or so it would be more doable but I don't think anyone can say for sure what time is safe except right when it opens.

I am underestimating the Vine's indoor capacity? and overestimating the arrival time of most fans?

Re: Announcements & advice for those heading to AZ (Mergedx2)

The forecast for Sunday is as follows: Which could change by then. Saturday's and Mondays are both good forecasts, temps near 70.

SUNDAYS FORECAST, AS OF NOW (1/28)

Few Showers
High
65°F

Precip
30%

The chance of any significant rain, as of now, is minimal.

Also, the Vine opens at 9AM, mainly for NEPFCA club members to do some set up inside. There are some fans that might start arriving that early, as well as some of the invited guests.

There is no way of telling how many, or what time larger groups will be arriving.

That will be no different than at any other valley location.

In either case, the one true Patriots Fan Bar, the mecca in the Valley for Patriot fans is THE VINE. And, we never know who will be there as far as media goes, on Sunday, but the other events, on Thursday night and Saturday night are well documented and will feature many great surprises.

Any, and all information can be obtained by going to our web site at http://www.nepfca.com and clicking open "blog" on the menu on the left side of the main page.

Or I can be emailed at [email protected]

CAN'T WAIT.

Re: Advice for buying SB XLII tickets

people still looking for tix: do you have flight/hotel booked already? or are you in AZ now?

I may have tix coming to me, but I won't know for a couple days, and I have no travel planned. kind of a pickle.
